My new friend seems to hide in his pet chest too much. He should be auto-equippable like the rest of the things I own such as clothing, tools, weapons... Unless I'm missing something it would seem I have to run to the pet chest every time I start a new session if I want my friend to come play.
The whole reason I bought a pet was to have it follow me around not go equip it every new session
Is there not an auto-equip option?

There is no option for it. Would be nice if you could save which pet you want to use by default, just like the ship stuff (if it was working).
