I cannot download without files being "missing" or something, then I get warnings on my PC that my drivers need to be repaired. What is going on?

I have a slow internet connection, so trying to download an 80+GB game takes me literally days to do, so you can imagine my frustration when I recently decided to redownload Sea of Thieves after a long hiatus and, not once, not twice, but multiple times, the game refuses to download all the way (one time at literally the last GB of data, so that was multiple days wasted of my life).

I have no clue what is causing the issue. It literally just stops downloading and Steam gives me a "Missing Downloaded Files" error whenever I retry finishing the download. The only solution I find is to literally uninstall all the progress and start over from the beginning.

My only theories on what's wrong are it's something wrong with the game right now (which, I've seen issues reported on the Steam discussion page, but I don't know if they're related to this issue or not), or if it's something to do with the game putting out an update faster than I can download the game itself, so the update corrupts the files I've already downloaded or something. Again, I don't know, but it's frustrating...

As if getting this error and wasting days trying to download the game weren't frustrating enough, on top of all this, when this error happens, I get a notification on my PC that my drivers are needing repairs... So not only is the game not downloading and I've wasted my time waiting for it to download, I'm also risking my drivers being corrupted or broken or something!

What is going on with the game? Why is it refusing to download all the way anymore? Why is it corrupting or damaging my drivers when I get the "Missing Downloaded Files" error? Until a solution or answer is given, I'm not risking this broken game breaking my pc again. :/
