Decoration Toolkit

  • So... A lot of people are complaining about trinket interactions being annoying in battles and can get in the way.

That's... not true really... Never had any issues with em. HOWEVER, When I am looking at that awesome looking ghost ship painting I got for sinking nearly 300 ghost ships (before the nerf), I want to be able to see it. Currently, the prompt just ruins the painting unless you spyglass it.

When I first decorated my dear Sloop The Third with ornaments, I did it in the Captaincy tutorial. The calm Captaincy theme while decorating was awesome.

Both of these things made me suggest this. The decoration toolkit would be in the left side of the captains table.

When you interact with it, it would play the calm Captaincy music and Lets you interact with trinkets. Tapping on it again disables it along with the music. You can still nudge trinkets after battles without the toolkit.

This is unlikely to be added as they would have to redo the tutorial but I still think it would be neat.

  • @thorumsu I am all for a change in all the interaction points and the tooltips with that

trying to grab loot of the ship.... why dont i have a sit down instead.....
or maybe better open up the ui for some random trinket that might be there or could be there

it is annoying and they are stepping away from the minimalistic ui and prompts which was one of the things that made it so great

the whole UI system needs an overhaul, with a real good look at what needs to be there at all times, what could be done as a button combo (like sit could be ctrl+f instead of just f)

and then the voyage complete pop-ups that still blocks your health bar, we had fixes for that with island banners but this just seems like someth=ing everybody forgets.
i care more about my health being visible then anything else

    Don't forget about controller

  • So... A lot of people are complaining about trinket interactions being annoying in battles and can get in the way.

Only the ones who havnt mastered where the barrels, hole spawns and where to stand to engage with stuff.

(Reason why I keep the damage my ship has taken so I know where the holes are XD )

I also said this is not true. I just want to decorate with Captaincy music and look at my ghost ship painting without the prompt.

  • Posted it somewhere else today and this is how I think it should be improved.

I would like a way to lock trinkets even as the captain but not through the menu. Meaning even the captain wont see the icon or name when getting close to a Trinket.

It just feels very artificial and avoding the prompt when interacting with the ship feels like Minesweeper. Dont take the lazy path and make a switch in the main menu, just add like a box on the ship that can just lock them when its done, and when you want to add/change just use this box to open the option.

Its really need to be a thing.

  • @thorumsu They do need to do something with it imo. Someone just posted recently in response to another post that they should just make it interactable near the shipwright just like the other ship cosmetics.

This would solve all of this!

No. Being able to change trinkets while on an adventure is a good thing. I just want to decorate with the captaincy theme and see my ghost ship painting without the prompts.
