General nerf to gold collection?

    Since the latest adventure's release I have noticed that a lot of loot has had its prize reduced, for example the red silk crates or the captains chests are the most noticeable, but there are many. I am aware that over time they are reducing the gold received from most items. Is this something only I have noticed or am I missing something?

    With this in mind, what even is worth doing for gold farming? You cannot do lost shipments, also these being the buggiest quests in game, or farm ghost fortresses (?), so its either reaper and world events of legend of the veil?

    I'd like to know if this is only me or if someone else noticed.

    Also forgot to add, since I don't know if you can edit posts, that I guess this latest nerf was provoked in part by the speed in which people leveled up the gold milestones ? So its a double nerf by nerfing loot and upping the milestones.

    They have been changing prices all of the time.

    I just hope they don't have hour long meetings discussing the relative value of Marauders Chests and the price of Tea.

    @mintharp184509 Yeah I agree with you, more varied quests or updating the existing ones would be really nice, especially with the new way you can obtain quests with captaincy, but I find it weird that the way to balance gold collection is to reduce everything's value, just makes it so the people who farmed millions of gold previously will still have millions of gold and new people will have a harder time doing the same.

    I've noticed it too. Particularly captains chest values going down.

    TBH, the problem isn't the value of treasure, its the bonus you get for emissary.

    Captains chests use to feel valuable. Now, they feel like trash, no better than a foul bounty skull.

    We are all too rich, emissary never should have been a 250% value increase. Should have been 5% per level.

    Actually, foul bounty skulls are selling for more than THREE times their original value. Captain's chests are hardly better, in comparison.

    @animeowl0807 This is true, and it worries me because yesterday I went to sell the loot from the Fotd and got from a stronghold chest (which should be some of the best loot in game) 1700 gold, without counting the emissary, which is what captain chests used to give over year and a half ago, the rest of the loot felt sort of similar to its standard price.

    My guess is that they nerfed most gold hoarders / merchants loot? Except the ghost loot.

    Edit: I get people saying that making money is really easy, which I do agree, but you do have to put in the hours to make said money, and in 750 hours of play I have only gathered enough money for the clothing, tools / instruments and weapons, and some ship parts and am still missing all the DA set and mostly all ship parts, which the loot nerf doesnt help with.

    Yeah, bad timing regarding captaincy dropped recently.
