I am guessing the idea being map markers persisting is that if you get sunk you dont have to remark the map? guessing this is why it carries across session because it was easier to design it to work like this than to keep them when sunk but erase them when logging out? Just dont see the point in carrying them cross session if our voyage progress doesnt carry over as well since usually you mark the islands you need to goto for the voyage your on

Aye, I end up removing the markers from last session as soon as I use the map.
A Clean Up Map feature would be appreciated - or just remove them when in a new session.
I might use the feature to mark things that are unmapped normally. Like uncharted islands and rock formations. That might make for some useful information when navigating since I'm still just casual enough to forget that stuff pretty often. There are some other potential uses for it that I could think of if pressed. Still, overall, it is a mostly useless feature as things stand right now. Maybe one day something will come to the game where it will make sense to have this available.
It would have been more interesting to have more things other than circles that you could make on the map. Little stamps basically so you could add what equates to notation to your map. But, yea.
