As someone who purchases the plunder passes and typically completes them within the first couple of weeks. It really stinks when real life interferes and you are unable to finish a pass and attain the rewards as a new season comes online. For the players that never spend money in the emporium and buy the pass it makes sense for the progression to be wiped. However, if you have purchased the pass and have completed all of the current seasonal goals making retroactive seasonal ranks available for those players that have invested into the games DLC available not only provides for additional player engagement, but also shows respect to the players that continue to financially invest in this IP. I would ask RARE to consider opening these back up to players to track and complete like any other achievement system in game.
Purchased Plunder Passes and Rewards System should not be time limited and remain open for completion and tracking.11
@draka1205 don’t buy the pass until you reach lvl 100, all the plunder pass stuff will get unlocked then...this way you don’t "lose" money
Problem solved@schwammlgott while this is a solution for the plunder pass specific items. I am looking at the full gamut of seasonal content as a DLC purchase to remain available to a player as Pro consumer. RARE has demonstrated the ability to track progress persistently and I would like to personally see support for this option. Perhaps you could elaborate on why you are against this idea as spending the money isn't the issue, its about the limited availability tied to the purchase.
Considering that Rare is scrubbing seasonal data from the website after it becomes 4 seasons old (e.g. Season One is no longer available at this link: https://www.seaofthieves.com/profile/seasons/Season_One) I doubt they have any plans at keeping multiple season tracks open at once.

Life. Get use to it kid.
It the most important thing outside virtual or digital goods that you can’t touch.More and more kids now are trying to get the rewards given to us almost free, easier way instead of playing. Because “life held them back”

Do they need the VIRTUAL space that badly? I personally think they should keep it up as a historical link to the days of yonder...
You're rude as hell on every thread and it's a little ridiculous you're even allowed to still post on these forums. You come in and just tell people to suck it up and deal with things and leave. Never respond. Go away. Seriously.
@draka1205 but previous seasonal rewards are not purchased dlc. the plunder pass is just discounted future emporium items.
As for the free rewards some are time limited and some will eventually be back.
I am of the mind that they should stay time limited for the season specific items like sails and title. And the other rewards should be released behind challenging or new commendations.

Oh the irony. Keep calling everyone kids and meanwhile crusade for the very grownup activity of having a grinding goal of sleeping 100 hours in a cartoony pirate videogame.
@greatfailure82 you do get them when you've done enough to unlock them in the allotted time. If you miss out you should be more careful with your purchases.
The best part of the season is the free stuff anyway.
@burnbacon I acknowledge life can and does get in the way. This is a feedback forum and I was making a suggestion for RARE.
@captain-coel and thats my point. that system is terrible. i shouldn't have to be more careful, i shouldn't feel the need to play the game more than i would without paying them money
@greatfailure82 You can wait and pay for the plunderpass when you feel like you have your money worth. You don't need to preemptively buy it. Or you can wait for the emporium cosmetics to hit the regular store. You won't have them at a reduced price anymore, but that's it.
@greatfailure82 Fundamentally there is something weird about paying money (for something), but then also only having a limited period of time to actually unlock all of those (purchased) items.
I assume this is a byproduct of a lack of regulations on the gaming industry, as this sort of system is definitely not in the consumer's best interest and this is the industry that also brought consumers Loot Boxes (before regulations mostly ended them).
Halo Infinite has it so after you purchase it you can complete it whenever, regardless of "season end," and I'd like to think that'd become the norm.

Not really.
People paying money for access and having a time requirement to receive what the access provides opportunity for is a pretty common transaction that is made between business and consumer.
If I buy dinner tickets to support the local fire department and I don't get my behind down there to get the spaghetti when the time on the ticket says I am gonna end up hungry.
@greatfailure82 Then don't buy it? The best part of this pass is the free part. It's been a large part of why I support this pass system.
Also the pass was designed so that fairly casual players can complete it easily.
The plunder pass in this game is taking future emporium cosmetics and changing the price for a limited time. Instead of 50$ it's 10$+ 30 hrs of gameplay.
@greatfailure82 your issue is really a non-issue. Its an optional purchase that doesn't offer anything unique. Its literally just a price change and a preview of items coming to the emporium. You get the option to buy it for less $ and time or more $ later. If you want the items, you just need to pick the price you are willing to pay for them.

Have you ever bought a bag of spinach before? Same concept. You spent the money on it, and now you have a limited amount of time to enjoy it. If you wait too long, you can no longer enjoy it (because it goes bad).
Think of the Plunder Pass this way. If you only buy the spinach when you are ready to use it, then you won't waste it. Same with the Plunder Pass. If you only purchase it when you feel you have progressed enough to have gotten the rewards you will want from it, then you won't have wasted any money.
This is a forum for feedback, but in my mind Rare hasn't done anything wrong here. They give ample opportunity to finish the Plunder Pass, they don't force anyone to purchase the Plunder Pass, and the Plunder Pass is retroactive to the season you are in, so if you reach Renown 100 and then purchase the pass, you get all the stuff. It's a no-brainer.
however to make your analogy correct spinach wouldn't have a use by date but the supermarket would have done something to make it inedible after 3 months.
i get this isn't the biggest problem by far with the gaming industry and that almost everyone uses this system. but if your defense of the system is because everyone else does it you haven't got a defense
