Ahoy!
This is a feature I always wanted in this game and I think it fits perfectly and would bring more role playing.
Carrier pigeons (or any other bird):
You are in an alliance and your mates are in the other corner on the map and you need help to fight another crew? Go up to the crownest and open the pigeon cage, and use it to send them a message.
A pigeon will appear on board by their wheel while they get an in-game notification.
You could also send a message to a near crew telling them your intentions: We're not friendly! We are here to fight!
Here is where the feature is hard to implement I think, but I hope Rare will find a way. You need to chose the pirate or crew (just avaiable for captained ship) to send the message. It should be someone who you sailed by and already met on the server, otherwise this will allow you to see how many crews are in the server, and this could be exploited.
This will bring more use to the crow nest. What do you think?
