Waking up on the table

Just choose the "A Pirates Life" when you are logging it. It will spawn you next to the Pirate's Life's Lady's Tent instead of the Tavern.

Does anyone get annoyed when you wake up on the table when you spawn into the game because it really annoys me.

No. It the setup of you waking up to begin your journey and adventure.

The only thing that bugs me about the table is the low res scar on one of the planks. Its the first thing most players see, smooth it out a bit.

Only thing I'd change about it is, now that we have captaincy, captains should wake up on the ship. Crew in the tavern, captain on the ship.

I reckon it should be the animation that plays when you wake up on the Ferry tbh, but as for the tavern I've just started choosing APL
