Gifting supplies? Let them know who they're from!

  • Just a little something I noticed from the update.

If, like me, you like to leave a crate of supplies on the dock at the end of your session to give the next pirate in a smoother start, you can now use your ship's log to let them know who left them!

Before logging off, scuttle your ship so the log book is left behind, and leave it with your supplies!

Now you can truly become a renowned giver of gifts!

  • @luciansanchez82 Hmm, cool idea. Not much playtime with captaincy yet but it looks like the logbook gets left behind whenever you quit, scuttle or not. At least, we've been finding logbooks regularly at outposts. Found 2 at Galleon's Grave last night with nothing in them, presumably from players that logged on then logged off, maybe server-hopping looking for Reapers or world events.

  • Cute work around for now

but just bring in stamps/brands or something to where storage can be marked imo

Would be cool to have storage crate skins as well to where after someone buys/finds one they can decorate it and leave it decorated/named

  • @sn0kanon yes you're absolutely right. The thought just occurred to me as I was logging off. It's just a cute way of marking who left the supplies as I assume log books will sink if left in the water like any other loot.

  • @wolfmanbush I'd love to be able to leave an actual note, add a truly personal touch!

This work around is a step closer at least!

  • Thank you fine Sir….. excellent idea, will do!

  • @luciansanchez82 Ahh, yes, I failed to grok the key element of your proposal which was to retrieve the logbook from the water and put it on the dock so it didn't sink.

I like @wolfmanbush's ideas; I always leave crates behind as some sort of tiny connection between my pirate's in-game life and whoever comes along afterwards.

the community is a small world community, lots of experienced players knowing lots of experienced players

imo it connects the community in a message in a bottle kind of way

"Hey! I know that name" creates a scenario where people can feel more connected and like they are a part of the whole.

Here you go... At an Ancient Spires Dockside (somewhere) under the watchful care of our Shelley :)

edit: was kind of hoping the book would rest on top the crate (... obviously with a 2nd thought it wouldn't)
At eye level, & book in front of the supplies, should do nicely :)

  • @piratecraggy that's wonderful stuff matey! I hope more people make a point of doing this. 🙏

I've always liked the idea of leaving behind a note with the Storage Crate. This is a great idea!
