This achievement should be just buying 1 of each type of ship.
unlocking 15 ships is going to be insanely tedious especially since you have to be the captain of the ship to level it up and unlock more ship slots.
this patch seems to be designed to pit people against their friends. "You want to be the captain? no thanks I want to level MY ship!" I dont get how the devs were so clueless on this update... jesus this is so bad
I'm going to cheese that.
I have 13m (52 sloops worth) and like 20 feet on my named ship. Delete and repeat! (I'm going to test this later tonight so don't go deleting any of your ships yet)

AFAIK you need to reach Legendary status on a ship to unlock another ship of that type.

Ship milestones as a whole are just creating tension within groups over who gets to captain the ship as now only 1 person gets to make progress...

You are not meant to unlock it Right away.....Tedious or not, it leaves the player a goal. Something to look forward too.
Has nobody ever played a game which required grinding to achieve...Oh No I forgot what year we are in and today kids do not. :(
@burnbacon What are you talking about? Everyone knows sea of thieves is a grindy game. Theres a difference between a good grind and a awful grind. Doing the legend of the veil 100 times is not great but at least is doing something. 100 hours of being on fire or playing an instrument for an 100 hours not a fun time at all.
Theres a difference between a grind and a awful grind. Every post I see you in you act like theres never been a grind in sea of thieves. All anyones asking for is that the grind be difficult but not insanely difficult. We're not saying that we should only catch like 100 fish for a cherished trinket. We just want a grind that won't take us years to do. People don't realize how much 2500 of each fish is. And the fact you can only catch them on your own. 2500 wouldn't be as bad as a grind if you had your whole crew working on it. Still might take a little bit but hey you know your making progess.

I thought only your ship rank resets to zero when you buy a new ship and the progress to rank 5 on the milestones do not.
That's why you will get to level 40 legendary on your ship way before any milestone maxes out.
I would not be surprised if you can't max out all 15 ships way before milestones are completed.

According to True Achievements this works. I would recommend doing it sooner than later if you're gonna cheese the achievement 😋

If I were to do this I would have to Men in Black flash myself of all of the memories of 2 hour battles and long distance swimming and finger aching rowboating just to make 10k here, 20k there, 30k, sometimes.
All those times I put in significant effort to take silks, villainous skulls, and captain chests to Christmas island for a few hundred extra gold
What else am I gonna spend it on? Supplies? I still get the free ones. It's not like we get a money bin to go swimming in.

Don’t forget to purchase a Cherished Trinket too for another easy-cheevo! All these Sloops we purchased, we’re eligible for one.
(You have to keep backing out of the shop after every tier purchase so it updates and allows you to buy the next tier up)
@pergund in total. So if you aren’t happy with a purchase just dismantle it. No need to clog up “inventory”
Kind of a silly achievement. I can't imagine many people wanting or caring about having multiple ships of 1 type. Since milestones don't carry over so title banners, crests, logbook cover unlocks also won't carry over seems silly to have a 2nd ship just to save a 2nd cosmetic load out. I just bought and deleted 12 extra ships. Basically just throwing away gold since its irrelevant anyway. 0 desire to have more than 1 of each ship type. Might have been a better achievement to just unlock X number of legendary ship titles instead of simply buying ships. But yea I have pretty much played solo since captaincy came out due to this whole milestone thing. Even though ship milestones only unlock minor things I also feel like I am wasting my time if I help someone else level their ship when I need to work on my own. I could have so many more trinkets unlocked if I just grinded them out with others. Captaincy has firmly cemented this game as a solo anti social experience for me... I mean it was kind of like that before but I at least played with others sometimes prior to captaincy. No longer though.
