My friend and I were running some lost shipment voyages last night. On one of those voyages we got the key from kraken's watchtower and set off. Our next clue was at scurvy isle but we decided to skip it and head for the shipwreck near sanctuary. Directly west of kraken's watchtower in the middle of the sea he spotted treasure floating and assumed it was one of our stops, so he fired out to it as I brought the ship in.
He found a few mermaid gems, and few goldhoarder trinkets, a skeleton captain's skull, and a few normal (not ghostly) gold pouches floating in the water.
Gold pouches are only dropped by skeleton captain's that are on land and phantoms, right? Since they weren't phantom gold pouches they must have came from a skeleton captain, but not a captain on a skeleton ship since skeletons on ships only drop ammo pouches.
We couldn't explain where this stuff came from. Skeleton ship's wouldn't drop individual gold pouches. Player ships wouldn't have gold pouches on board unless in an ashen chest, but those can't be removed from the chest without collecting them into your personal gold. The skeleton captain's skull made me think it was a skeleton ship, but there was no storage crate, and again that doesn't explain the gold pouches. We didn't know what to make of it and we were curious if anyone else had found something like that.
