I was hoping to get some feedback from other pirates on whether they are currently experiencing issues with game chat (audio communication) on the Xbox version of the game?
The reason I am reaching out on the forum to see if any others are experiencing this is because quite a few other friends that play the game are also experiencing issues with game chat (audio) recently, and it is not working for them either. All of these friends are playing on Xbox. If it weren't for the fact that 4-5 friends are all having this issue, I would suspect that it was an issue with my installation, audio settings, or something else tied to my setup. However, when 4-5 other people are also experiencing the same issue on Xbox, it makes me wonder if Rare has temporarily suspended game chat (audio) in the game?
I know that my headset and mic are working in general, as I am able to hear people in an Xbox Live Party, and they can hear me.
I have done research on the forum, and gone through the troubleshooting steps in the audio-related support articles, as well as done some general internet research on this issue. Nothing that I have found so far has been able to restore game chat (audio).
Game chat (text) is working fine, and I am able to join Xbox Live Parties and message friends on Xbox Live, so I do not think it is a comms ban.
I found an article about a bug in the game that surfaces if you are in a Party, and then launch the game, and try switching to game chat (audio). Apparently this bug was causing game chat (audio) not to work. The suggested fix was to leave the game, disconnect and reconnect your headset / mic, and launch into the game, then join a Party.
I have tried this and it does not resolve the issue. When I am in the game creation screens, my mic shows as "ready."
Of note: none of us that are having the issue see the little speech bubble next to our gamertag when talking. We have confirmed our mics are on mute, we aren't blocked, and we aren't muted.
I have reached out to some other friends that play on Xbox and on PC to see if they are also having the issue, but haven't heard back yet.
