Too many hacks

  • Since the last patch, several colleagues have seen an increase in users using hacks, several of them even gave themselves away, this is spoiling pvp a lot and it becomes very tiring, I put this because it has happened to us many times.

Let's see if it's fixed for the next patch

  • @patiflou If you think someone has violated the Code of Conduct just report them.

  • We have already done it, the problem is that if this continues, no matter how much they are reported, they will continue

  • Yes, so much cheater using aim asist with new acc

  • @patiflou We all should do our best to keep gaming clean and within the rules. Just make sure to have proof and report those people you think are violating the rules, this way you do your bit for yourself and the gaming community.

  • The real problem is since the new update, every session you enter, you find someone with less than 30 hours, hitting 2 bullets with a gun and sniper in 1 second with some trick or macro. And this makes the game not playable, I never had to come to the forum to inform anyone for 3 years, and now it’s a clown party every session

  • Of course, as long as there is evidence we report, the problem is that since the last patch the number of these incidents has increased a lot, so it would be good to look at why this happens, because even if we report on many servers there is someone like that and they already mess up the game experience, before it didn't happen like that and if you met someone then you reported them and that's it, but now it's too much

I see people that are quite skilled with gunplay on a regular basis but it's not some all day every day can't play the game kind of thing.

Almost all of my opponents are server hoppers which is going to have more of it than any other style of organic play and it's not something that prevents me from playing.

It's random, there are plenty of crews that are obviously playing without combat exploits and there are people that are just very skilled at what they do, and there are crews that are just so designed for overkill that's it's not as difficult to pull off cool stuff because of the skill gap between opponents.

Outside of high risk/high reward gameplay there aren't many organic players floating around out there doing much of anything other than playing and fighting as designed and intended.

  • @wolfmanbush Really? i play this game for 3 years and i never have to come here for any problem of cheater

  • @wolfmanbush if u want i share u the last account that have cheated, he have 29 hours played

  • They are newly created new accounts to which you speak privately and even some recognize it, none of this happened on this scale until the last patch, before they did not have these problems, and from one day to the next we are like this

  • I just hope this stops, because I have 3 days in which you can not play, when it is skill is noted by how you play, I played arenas for more than 1 year, and played tdm events and this that I am seeing is not normal

The randomness of interaction in adventure play makes it unlikely that people are facing so many cheaters on a daily basis that they cannot play the game without seeing them.

In my opinion these topics are filled with unaccountable exaggerations and accusations which make it difficult to navigate towards accuracy when examining people's anecdotal experiences.

People's anecdotal experiences including my own do not alter the design of the experience. Servers are still random people attacking random ships for the most part, that creates a scenario where it's never really all of anything. It's random people that range from completely non-hostile to very hostile. The majority ranging from non-hostile to mildly hostile which is seen commonly by servers typically only having 2-3 ships fighting at a time, if there is any combat on the server at all.

The percentage of pvpers that would need to be cheating in order to see it daily would be a number that seems very very very unlikely in reality.

Why don't we just wait here a little while? See what happens with the ban waves.

  • @wolfmanbush I see that I will not receive help here then, if I complain that cheaters with accounts of 20 hours cheat, I am exaggerating, when what we come to say is that since the last patch there are many cheaters

Cases are decided on an individual basis while focusing on evidence provided by the accuser and whatever tools they use to check out specific incidents and accounts, privately not publicly.

Mass accusations have no substance to work with. Case by case with evidence is how accountability works.

I posted in the thread their most recent message on the topic. They are consistently working on detecting cheating and enforcing their rules when individuals are determined to be involved in cheating.

  • I understand what you are saying, the problem is from the last patch, if not, we would not write this post, it is useless to report individually if currently anyone finds hacks in 5 minutes due to some failure of the last update, the only thing we are looking for is to report this problem.

  • Proof required before its believed.
    No proof, no evidence

Could just be better than you

  • better admitting that they use hacks?

  • @burnbacon Its sad how people only come here for say its better than u, when u dont know wath we are talking about

Curious... What did you expect to happen? A Rare dev to come in here and ask you for a list of gamertags to insta-ban? They've said they're working on it. What are you hoping for by posting accusations here with no evidence or anything of substance?

@patiflou said in Too many hacks:

the only thing we are looking for is to report this problem.

Then you either chose the wrong avenue to do said reporting...or you did actually do the reporting and you're just hoping for everyone to chime in and make your reports feel warranted.

I've got 2500+ hours. Lots of PvP throughout. I've never once even suspected legitimate "cheating"... though I've been accused of cheating a bunch of times by sore losers. Not saying cheaters don't exist, but the frequency with which they are claimed to be seen is surely exaggerated.

  • @ix-indi-xi said in Too many hacks:

@patiflou I reported a player that admitted on voice chat to using "ESP" when a crew mate of mine questioned him how he messaged one of us from 10 squares/grid away from the map...
(ESP let's you see player names in a server)

(Recently played with names on the xbox app dont show up from that afar) we submitted the whole footage of the encounter only for RARE support to claim "not enough evidence" and "wont share the outcome of this report"
No need when you can stalk profiles to see those individuals have not been banned, despite clear evidence and them admitting to using hacks...

I lost faith in Support from that day on in combating actual cheaters...

I wouldn't recommend going around joking or being sarcastic about cheating but "confessing" can be insufficient evidence if it's not supported with anything else.

Some streamers regularly joke around about stuff like that during interactions where the topic is brought up. It's evidence but someone saying something while people are bickering doesn't necessarily mean it is true.

If someone is accused of aimbotting and they say sure I am an "aimbotter" that's not really enough evidence for anything but it could be added on to more substantive evidence.

  • The more comments I read, the less I want to answer, it's very sad how you don't care that the game is filled with cheats, I just googled sea of thieves cheats and pages come out saying leaks, but the bad player is me and the others They are pro players with 20 hours, anyway I'm not going to waste any more time, good night

  • @cregen7022 those "new accounts" could just be redbeard alt accounts for toxic behaviour and not cheats, I know a ton of players in the community like that, doesnt mean they use cheats, some do...

I also KNOW players that have trusted me in sharing their footage of cheats who had their accounts since year 1 and have not been banned present day..

Because it clear if you know people it shows that something isn't working behind the scenes to catch such cheaters.

The only cheaters that I know get banned are the ones that are cocky and share it to others who report them with proof.

Not stating I do/will since I have my own gaming reputation to uphold, but I can right now download a cheat that will assist my cannon aim and hit 90% of my long range shots, not get banned for using it unless I shared footage from my PoV...

Go include yourself in the TDM community and see how many are using 120 fov after a few months of earning players trust, for example...

SoT needs a better anticheat system, end of.. and i hope they are doing something about it.

People don't condone cheating by supporting a system of evidence and individual accountability when proven.

  • @ix-indi-xi
I just think that with this last patch, a vulnerability was created

  • @ix-indi-xi I am aware of that kind of people, I met some, the problem is that this 29-hour account makes me know that he has money and he doesn't care about the ban

I don't understand why people even stress themselves out with this account checking thing.

It doesn't mean cheating. The people that check the reports can go through that I dunno why people feel the need to get all up in people's account business.

I have thousands and thousands of not only hours but combat experiences as well and if I was a betting man I would bet that there are MANY experienced fpsers that could join this game and within 20 hours absolutely wreck me in close combat with their accuracy and performance.

Let the people that deal with reports get into people account business imo. I don't see why it's necessary for any of us to as random people during random interactions.

  • @wolfmanbush Ok wolf u are a pro with 10k hours

Just about every known person and person that has faced or faces any sort of harassment has motive to run an alt account.

That doesn't mean they do it just means there are reasons outside of cheating and outside of bans to run alt accounts. If it's even an alt account.

Skilled and accurate doesn't necessarily mean they aren't newer players as well. Some of these sailors have been fps and online gaming daily since they were little kids. Some bring skills in with them.

  • @wolfmanbush A legit person does not have the need to open an alternative account to be able to play, you contradict yourself, if they open an alternative account it is for something, I have friends with more than 7k hours who destroy you in pvp and do not need an alternative account please leave me alone

Don't need 7k hours to take me out.

I can still get camped by new players swinging swords.
