Introduce "Sell All treasure" feature, please!

  • Okay, so for those of you that have been playing this game for some while, we all know and admit the same fact. Selling loot is extremely boring and tiresome, both for PvP/PvE oriented players. I'm pretty sure nobody likes running around huge stacks of singular items one-by-one (No, the Treasure Chest does not help!!), which is a hassle to get in a first place. Allow us to take a break after we find loot (Doesn't matter, PvP or PvE way) and carry it back to the ship.

So how about Sell All treasure feature, with bit of tweaks to make it fairer to the other players? For example, an NPC at the docks can have an option "Sell All loot" - a person interacts with it and the selling process begins - the more loot crew has, the longer it will take. (Pretty much the same mechanic as Storing/Taking supplies with storage crate) - if the person interacting with the NPC enters combat or moves, the selling process stops.

I believe this will allow both PvE and PvP oriented players to rest a bit in two ways:

    • PvE players can take a break from their long-session grind
    • PvP players will also take a break from all the chasing, strategizing, naval & board combat

    Please consider this..

The Treasure chest does help, for every 3 items it saves 2 runs to the NPC.

I'd find the standing in front of a merchant more boring than the running up & down.
It may prioritise selling the loot differently than how I want it.
Having the NPC stand on the dock, makes it too much easier for the crew with loot on board than anyone who might want to "help" you with turning in loot.
It may cause issues when someone else is turning in chests or skulls the old fashioned way.

  • Suggestions like these are common for players that don't understand why the mechanic of hand delivering treasure has been in the game for 5 years.

Any piece of your treasure is capable of being stolen from the place you obtained it through PvE, all the way to the outpost, until you turn it in at the correct vendor. Yes, it is slow, this is to increase the risk, if you know how slow it is to deliver a chest and a pirate is hot on your tail, you can risk to turn the treasure in, or realize that you will have to defend your entire ship against vicious pirates so that you may sell in peace.

Risk/Reward plays a huge role in this game, and it's important to always be aware of your surroundings and make careful decisions when you can. Sometimes, even a dangerous idea can be the correct idea.

  • get a rowboat with a harpoon. store the loot direct on the rowboat , get on land with the rowboat on op, use the grapling hook for pull you to the goldhoarderr tent and so on

  • @a-queen-see this completely removes the ability to drive-by sell or rowboat sell if you are being chased. Not a big fan of that as a solo vs a brig/galleon for one.

Secondly how would this system prioritize selling loot? I always make sure the most valuable goes first in case of an attack (chest of legends, event specific skulls/loot, tribute chests, etc.)

  • Selling loot is extremely boring and tiresome

So is gathering all that Loot. So why dont you just give it to some other player? They be glad to take it off your hands.

I'm pretty sure nobody likes running around huge stacks of singular items one-by-one (No, the Treasure Chest does not help!!)

Risk = Rewards. And Yes, it does help when you take a moment to realize it.

PvE players can take a break from their long-session grind

    Breaks from what?

PvP players will also take a break from all the chasing, strategizing, naval & board combat

    again..breaks from what?

    Please consider this..

Just leave your loot on your ship or island and some passing pirate will gladly take it off your hands, lazy pirates dont deserve it.

  • @a-queen-see watch this space, we don't have full details but we know that sovereigns coming in s7 with captaincy are designed to streamline selling loot. Doubt it will be to the extent of sell all option as that's not rares style, they want immersion in the world they've designed, that's why the hud has so little info. I know with storage crates they allowed quick movement but I doubt they'd go down that exact route with loot selling (my own opinion)

  • Going from island to island for loots is also very tedious so on top of the above suggestion I'd like to also suggest

    • a "go fetch my loot for me" option
    • a "teleport from island to island"option
    • a "grind the gold curse for me" option.

I would also support an emporium item that allows me to get all the cosmetics and commendations in the game without ever installing it.

  • Nah, its a part of the game. This would remove the potential for last-gasp steals.
