There is a Dark Adventure’s everything, why not add a cool curse that costs like 12 Mil or something? It could be really neat.
Dark Adventure’s Curse, cause why not?

Tie it to a commendation if you want it to stay "exclusive" otherwise people who have too much gold won't even notice the price.
THIS.
Don't just make a "buyable" curse...tie it to some commendation that isn't related to just buying stuff.
Maybe tie it to the "Legends Looted" commendation or something like that.

I somewhat disagree. I think it should be tied to specifically gold. I have the gold curse which is tied to commendations. I believe Dark Adventurer should continue to be exclusively a gold sink. I have the entire dark adventurer ship set minus the hull, all of the DA clothes that actually look good not the cheesey pants or gloves…I also have two DA weapons and the beard/ one hairstyle. I can almost promise you that the amount of time it took me to amass that gold is a mountain of time in comparison to the amount of time it took me to get gold curse. Gold curse took me approximately 35-40 hours of dedicated gameplay on a brig with competent PvPers. 40 hours is a drop of water in the sea of time that it takes to make the amount of gold I’ve spent on DA ship and player cosmetics. Doing merchant alliance it takes me about 3 hours to reach 400-500,000. 40 hours of merchant will get me about 6.6 million gold. (166,666 per hour)Which is only enough to buy the wheel and a weapon (approximately). That still leaves the cannons/sails/figurehead/anchor/flag, jacket, belt, shirt, shoes, eyepatch, weapons, beard, and hair. Honestly making a bunch of gold is definitely a chore in itself. ( Yes I know the cursed communist party of server alliances exist but let’s not fixate on those communist exploiters).
BUT
If we were to lock DA curse behind a commendation, it should be the gold curse commendation. That way only real OG pirates would have it because you already know server alliance kids aren’t going to actually grind or work for anything hard like gold curse. To compromise let’s say gold curse commendation and 8 million like the sails/hull/figurehead. Or we can be really mean and tie it to Captain of the killer whale commendation + gold curse commendation + 8 million gold. That way less than 3% of players will have the DA curse. I’m not 100% sure about that 3% statistic but I do know that my captain of the killer whale title is more rare than my gold curse.
Considering DA is tied to flameheart the curse should be the ghost curse except instead of green you’d be red like flame heart’s floating head
@robby0316 I should have been more clear, I would most definitely want it to be a massive gold sink....in addition to being commendation locked.
Now, the degree of difficulty for that commendation doesn't really matter much to me, but if it was made to be like the rest of the set and able to be bought as a singular item for say ~12m gold, that would be the first item from the set that players set their sights on.
The commendation could be something as simple as "Dark Adventurer Through and Through" where the requirement is to not only own all of the existing DA cosmetics, but also have obtained the Gold Curse... though if that was the case, the Gold Curse can be cheesed really quickly now with the checkpoints so alliance servers would for sure just cheese that bit of it too.
I just think a pure gold sink with no commendation lock (aside from PL) for a curse would really diminish it's exclusivity. I think 80% of the DA set looks awful...so I've got no desire to buy it despite the stacks of gold...but if there was a curse that had it as a prerequisite and the curse looked cool enough, I'd probably bite the bullet.

Off topic, but what the heck do you do with merchants to make 400-500k in 3 hours?
Commodity crate flipping, I essentially circle the map either clockwise or counterclockwise. I buy all the inventory, which is 15 crates. I go from outpost to outpost selling what’s in demand and buying everything else. Back when we had 7 outposts you could have about 105 commodity crates at all times once you bought everything because 7 x 15 is 105. The golden sands event kinda dampened that which is why I fought for Merrick. Doing a merchant shipwreck voyage gets you to grade 5 pretty quickly. You can make 22,500 gold just selling 15 sugars on the low end, or about 34,000 gold selling unclassified gemstones on the high end. So if you’re grade 5 and sell 15 crates to every outpost, you’ll be making about 200,000 gold (approximately) every time you make a full circuit around the map+ one extra outpost stop. So if you started at ancient spire and had all the commodity crates possible, and you traveled clockwise around the map, by the time you reach plunder outpost the second time (considering plunder was your first stop from ancient spire). You should have made around 200,000 gold. Now imagine you’re on a very efficient brig, while you wait for the timer to reset so you can buy more crates you can knock out some merchant shipwrecks. Also sinking every skeleton ship you encounter helps because sometimes they have like 3 gems which can add a nice bonus.
