The ability to purchase worms or other bait related items for hunters call fishing. This shop can be located on all of the seaposts and will basically serve as a way to get bait faster, for people looking to not spend too much time gathering worms and a shorter fishing duration. These bait shops can also have the option to sell 1 rare worm, that have a very high chance at spawning the rare fish of that region. These can act like a Larina voyage where it cost doubloons to get and it will trigger a random seapost voyage to collect the "super worm" This worm can guarantee the spawn of one rare fish of the region. The catch is the voyage will act like those time limited voyages from Larina. (like the lvl ups for the factions) once you purchase it, it wont be available for about a week/ month whatever you feel is more balanced.
Bait Shop + Rare Worm (Larina Voyage)
This is a feature that should have been implemented in the game when Hunter's Call was first introduced. The amount of time I've spent having to collect worms vs. being able to fish is just insane. Being able to fish for a rare fish with 'super' or 'cursed' worms would be awesome! For those of us that have jobs or families and therefore can't spend the amount of time fishing we'd like....this would be a fantastic option.
Seems to be completely against the spirit of being a fisher in a pirate game. Why would I want to spend money on bait I can dig up. The money from fishing barely covers the cost of the cosmetics unlocked from the activity, let alone the cost of supplies to keep your boat afloat! I need fishing to be more profitable not less, how else am I suppose to afford the cosmetics that are the only means to show my progression? Increasing the chance of a rare fish ruins the concept of said rarity and would take away from the unbridled joy one experiences after fishing for 8 hours, sometimes 2-3 sessions, to hook one of those Crayola scaled sea denizens. The activity needs more complexity with extremely niche rewards that even less of the those willing to enact the journey of competition will have the dedication and will to acquire.
I don't know about making rare fish fishing easier, it would make it much easier to achieve the Legendary Hunter Award... but if this bait were possible to find (not buy), having a high rarity and not guaranteeing a rare fish, that would be acceptable.
Sell common baits, sure should be added to the game, have more things to spend than just skins.

It always starts off innocent enough with those super worms
Next thing you know you're tip toeing and whispering across the burning hot desert trying to decide which is worse, dehydration or a hangry graboid
Not this guy.
getting all the fish is easily the most time consuming thing in the game, 1000+ hours are required to get the commendation if solo. that is quite simply ridiculous even for a game about grinding like SoT is. having a way to get an increased chance of a rare fish is needed, even if the time to grind isn't changed but instead you need to do a long quest in order to break up the monotony it would be a welcome break

No way it takes 1000+ hrs. There are 2100 unique catches. You definitely can average more than 1 fish per 28 minutes.
Yes please, This is so well thought out aswell.
Please allow bait purchase ( Baitcrate ), and make us do voyages for a Cursed bait that has a higher chance on rares
All Cursed bait should have a 70% Rare and 30% Uncommon but then atleast guaranteed Trophy rate.Cursed grubs = DevilFish + BattleGill
Cursed leeches = AncientScale + StormFish
Cursed earthworm = WildSplash + Plentyfinn + Wrecker.
Cursed minnow ( Small fry ) = Islehoppers + Pondie + Splashtail. As addition add the minnow ( small fry ) on the catchlist ( no struggle ) for any area when fishing without bait ( 1 in 5 throws ), that will then be the regular go to bait type for Islehoppers + Pondie + Splashtail, You should still be able to catch them without but only the Base + Common + Night.
Meaning that the Uncommon + Rare can only be caught with the minnow ( Small fry ) as bait and as stated before..the Cursed minnow ( Small fry ) allows a 70% rare catchrate...Every cursed bait will only come in quantities of 1 per voyage..
So you do a Voyage in the Devilsridge or at a fort for the cursed grub. ( 2 Diffrent voyages )
At the ancientisles or at a storm for a cursed leech.
Etc etc so basicly the Voyages already take you to a place where you can use the Cursed bait...
As stated before, only allow 1 Voyage per type per defined period...1 Voyage per fishtype.. meaning there are 10 Voyages you can complete every X period... ( Month seems nice )
Hunting the legendary spashtail.
Hunting the legendary pondie.
"" "" "" islehopper.
"" "" "" ancientscale.
Etc etcThis will also add a learning curve for the to use bait types for specific fish for newer players... I still find that some players after months/years are not familiar with the required baittype...

Cursed worms? Really!? 🙄
Yes really, when done properly this can give a real boost to the Hunters Call..
Read my prior post.My change to OP though is that you dont get the voyages at Larina cause she has nothing to do with Hunters call.
But instead you just get them at the Seaposts where you can also buy the "Baitcrate"Maybe even diffrent voyages per Seapost ( Regional )
This would transition the Hunters call into a real but diffrent type of trader in comparison to GH/MA/OoS/RB/AF
But with similar voyage construction etc... hell they could even add HC Emissary at that Point. The ability to purchase worms or other bait related items for hunters call fishing. This shop can be located on all of the seaposts and will basically serve as a way to get bait faster, for people looking to not spend too much time gathering worms and a shorter fishing duration
So you want to spend less time ingame? It dont take long to dig up bait anyways.

So im guessing you dont like cannonbalcrates.. or woodcrates... or fruitcrates when you can just take all of that from random barrels ? And spend more time ingame..
Some people just wanna spend gold on stuff and some rather search for it..
I mean if a bait crate had 15 of each it would be OP and since atleast my idea would be to be able to buy 1 per seapost per X time...
Just like the cannonball crate for example it would serve as a startpunt but from there in out youll still have to dig them up or sail to a diffrent seapost...@captain-coel said in Bait Shop + Rare Worm (Larina Voyage):

of course you can, but you cant simply rock up and catch the fish that you want to catch. you can basically ignore all the fish apart from the rare ones and calculate how long its going to take you to get them as all the rest will be caught 5 times over before you get 10 rares
