Buying ammo crates from the merchants

As a rule of thumb, if it's offensive in nature, it cannot be purchased (weapons shop doesn't count, because everyone already has those weapons - you're just buying the appearance of your weapons) - this includes your ammo crates, throwables (all kinds), special cannonballs (all kinds), gunpowder barrels (all kinds), and monster-based weapons (e.g., the trident and flamethrower skull).

Lol, idk what buttons you use to swap weapons but I don't think that would be the issue. Lining the capstan I think would be the worst of it. That needs correcting for a whole host of other reasons though.

I sail on Xbox waters, so X and Y are the interactable buttons for the crate - X won't do much during combat, but Y switches weapons. If you can't switch because you are grabbing ammo instead, that's a delay that could get you killed. I don't think it happens with the ammo crates, but some other types will even stop your movement coldest you accidentally interact with it.
