Storage Crate

  • Hello Sea of Thieves. I want to propose you an idea for the one of the future update. The idea is to make filter for the storage crates for every type of supplies. For example in game settings player can chose what exactly he wants to take from barrels\ship barrels\other crates using storage crates. (Fireworks - no, canonballs - yes, chainshots - yes, bananas - no, worms - no, etc.)
I think this feature would make a game process more interesting, means players have no need to spend a lot of time to sort all their stuff, but simply take their storage crate, loot every barrel and go for the adventures.

  • Or just use the crates designed for only one type? Cannon ball crates, fruit crates, etc

I think the OP feels hindered that he can't take a very useful item when the first barrels were lots of fireworks and bait, taking up most of the spots.

I actually like that resource gathering with a resource crate needs some intelligence or at least a pause to see if you still got space to get much needed planks, taking some bait and cursed balls out and continue to the next set of barrels.

Also on enemy ships it needs some extra work to rob them of their good food - it is already really powerful compared to the take & store 5 or 10 we had previously. It also makes some counter plays possible if you want to make it more difficult for enemies to take your (good) stock.

  • i think it would over complicate things. with the way things are now its quite simple to organize.

i.e. you buy a storage crate and empty all the barrels on the outpost. you want that storage crate to become the cannonball crate.

when you are done go to the wood barrel and hit store…then the same to the wood barrel…thrn boom your left with cannon ball/chain shot stuff

  • Yes please

  • Just check the crate after you've done a few barrels and take the unique items into your own inventory like curse balls, bait, fireworks. If you really don't want them, put them back into a barrel you've already looted.

I understand the request, but I feel like it's too technical a request in a game that has a lot of focus on immersion, so the intentionally minimal hud, ui etc. I don't think it's something devs would do as its not even supporting those with accessibility needs that much
