I've always had fun beating Forts, Forts of Fortune and even made out with a Fort of the Damned but now, I've been yearing for the ultimate bastion-bashing challenge and, after clearing out the vaults of these castles that a new idea came into my mind.
A Fort so tough, so challenging that it puts the Fort of Fortunes and Fort of the Damned to shame: The Fort of Fated Treasure.
This terrible redoubt would obviously be the ideal PvP hotpot with plentiful caches of loot and an ultimate reward for those who stick it to the end. Though this horrendous challenge would not be situated on any random ol' fort and, much like the Fort of the Damned, would be sited at a single island; Walled by all kinds of various defensive fortifications and half the size of the Shores of Gold. Certainly not for the faint hearted.
The layout consists of the flat grassy plains of other forts but in the center would be the monolithic keep consisting of 6 floors, rather than the 3 floors of standard keeps. The walls would be lined with various cannon hardpoints, allowing the keep to provide a near 360-degree coverage of the fort's outer reaches while the beachfront and approach are handled by 8 cannon towers arranged in a nearly-neat octagon formation, providing some acute blindspots to safeguard ships that manage to slip through the barrage of cannonfire.
The fort would also bear a terrific cache of loot with three normal fort vaults and one large 'super-vault'. The former locked by standard stronghold keys, while the super vault opens by 'Ashen Vault Keys'. How to attain will follow.
The Event
The Fort of Fated Treasure's World Event is much like all the other standard World Events but with a lower priority than the others but when it does, players would see three mini-skull clouds arranged in a triangular fashion, with a familiar fog-horn like sound to announce its activation.
When players are lured and approach the mega redoubt, they'll be met with an intense barrage from its circle of towers and the keep's own guns, making it hazardous for players to maintain the straight and narrow and only when they manage to find shelter in a blindspot may they make landfall and challenge the super-fort's defenders... 30 waves of them in fact.
30 waves of 30-skeletons charge down upon the attackers, with every 4th wave yielding a trio of captains who drop maps to hidden munitions and supplies. Each 10th wave yielding one of three skeleton lords to thrall and provide a finicky challenge. When that wave's leader is slain, a Stronghold Key is dropped, which is used to open one of three vaults with your standard cache of ordinary fort treasure.
Only the most greediest and determined of pirates may slug through the other 20, gaining access to the other 2 vaults' contents before daring to try the last 10. A punishing gauntlet composing of ashen skeletons with the 40th wave yielding three Ashen Lords. Each one in possession of a map-visible Fated Stronghold Key which all three must be collected to open the Fort's true and well valued treasure. Should the crew succeed in overtaking the challenge that the fort is cleared and the belly full of treasure composing mainly of Athena-grade loot awaits.
This fort would reward players who can fight the fort's event as far as they want... will they peel away with one vault's worth of loot or will they go for the ultimate haul? With such a punishing endeavour, this fort would become a warranting hot-zone for PvP as crews fight over control of this super fort. situated in the center of where the Arena once stood.
This would be an insane idea but something I wanna get down on paper and see what the community would approve of this idea.
Hope you enjoy reading this.
