  • While we're used to spending 15 minutes unloading our ship hauls and selling chest by chest, or going across Dagger Tooth outpost multiple times to grab all 8 cargo crates from Winnie at the weapon shop and taking them towards our ship all the way on the opposite side of the island, I think it's time we had a quality of life update on this regard.

The idea is simple: An outpost pushcart/wheelbarrel/wagon - or whatever you prefer calling it - on which we can load multiple loot items, and then push it around the outpost for quicker transporting various items at once. Kinda like how we can do with the Harpoon Rowboats already by dragging them through the land - just now an official, less painful solution by Rare.

One pushcart would be available at each outpost, and could only be dragged around the land. Taking it off the island, dragging it to the sea or loading it on your ship should be impossible.

If Rare thinks this solution is overpowered, you could make it behave like a Treasure Chest, where you have loot slots (e.g. 3 slots) to place any loot type (trinkets, chests, crates, etc.). This way, it would make transporting items across the outpost slightly faster, but not unbalanced.

There are already pushcart models scattered across the map, like on Dagger Tooth and Galleon's Grave, just taunting us and begging to be used. So, please, Rare, make it happen! Thank you.

Edit: As it was suggested on the official Discord server, maybe it could be interesting to add a spawn chance for these carts. Meaning that they wouldn't always be there, and the player would be required to look for them on the outpost before they could use them (or not use them on the cases they didn't spawn). The random chance could help keeping things fresh and different each time.

There is a dock close to the Weapon Shop. I use that one when cargo has to go to Winnie or when we have to pick up cargo from her ...

  • Adding an elevator at Ancient Spire too? Can't wagon up the ladder for Athena loot...

  • Personally, I feel like having to take time to sell loot at the outpost is part of the risk/reward cycle of the gameplay loop. The more loot you stack, the longer you're vulnerable at an outpost selling. Not sure if this is Rare's intent, but it works out this way.

Collector chests were nice for the trinkets, but I'd need a little more convincing to be on board with something that speeds up large item turn ins.

  • @habiki Fair point. This reaches the point of personal preference. To me personally, it's just so tedious to go back and forth 40 times just to finish selling, especially when I have a competent crew and am not worried about a possible approaching threat.

That also won't remove all the risk. The act of stacking itself is still risky. While you're doing multiple events, while you're sailing around with a stacked ship, and even while you reach the outpost and still have to drop all your loot from the ship. These processes take time and still count for the risk factor. But once you're in the outpost and your loot is off the ship, minimizing this risk doesn't seem like a big deal to me, personally.

All in all, I would personally prefer sacrificing this portion of the risk in order to be able to minimize the amount of times I have to run up and down the same path

  • If it's tedious to go back and forth 40 times then don't stack up that much loot?

I mean you are your own worst enemy

  • @junior7973 Remember, stacking quests isn't the only way to fill your ship with loot. You may sink a ship that's already stacked; you may do one Lost Shipment; you may do one world event (FoF and Fleet especially); you may do one lvl 5 emissary quest; not to mention the skelly ships you have to sink along the way.

All these things will fill your ship with loot and none of that is stacking. Grabbing a stack isn't hard in this game, and you might end up with a stack simply by moving from A to B in a single quest.

Besides, "not grabbing loot" isn't a serious solution to "avoid slow and tedious selling". That's like suggesting someone not to progress in the game at all. The problem is there, and this thread is a suggestion to solve it. "Stop selling" is not an ideal solution.

So for me when I solo sloop and stack a bunch of treasure I don't want to turn in I just swap from closed to open crew and have the new person turn in my treasure. They are usually happy to help for the free gold.

  • quicker transporting various items at once.

No thanks. The the amount of loot packed on a wagon, the extra weight, the sandy beach, should make it difficult and slower but hey...you can move multiple items :p

  • @burnbacon As opposed to rowboats floating while carrying 5 tons in loot? :P

  • @kowg4n Thats a lot of "what if" so for something that silly what if you don't?

the "not grabbing loot" isn't a serious solution to "avoid slow and tedious selling". then maybe sell more often

All in all I still end up on the you are your own worst enemy and I solo sloop 90% of the time soo

  • Pushcarts seem like a slightly messy mechanic with more moving collision meshes.

What about deckhands though? When you leave items on the dock, they could pick them up and sell them, taking a cut of the profits. They would walk slower than a player, so that would add its own balance - do you want to leave your loot on the dock and risk another player coming along and taking it?

  • @kowg4n NO, to the pushcart suggestion
As been said already, weapon shop at Dagger Tooth solution: park at the other dock

And about one other thing I write you a pm...

Edit: you can use a harpoon rowboat...there you got your "pushcart"-kind of...
