Like really it barely matches the sails it's just boring monotones of pink --
Something could be done to make the petals on the top layer pop maybe but (Edit::Made the white brighter!) honestly the monotone pink petals on pink hull with brown and pink? C'mon. All the other parts of this set are SO colorful and then there's that hull.

I think you are losing sight of the forest for the trees. Busier is not always better. This might have more of the colors of the sails but it removes focus from the component pieces. The pop of the sails, capstan, wheel, and figurehead come from being framed by the more muted colors of the hull and the top gallant. The aesthetic of the set is meant to be more elegant than a riot of color. Even the splashtails are muted on the capstan to allow the cherry blossoms to pop and the overall theme to carry through.
@jaegerdelta3465 I disagree. Tho I don't think my edit is at all the perfect version -- I kinda, think the origanal doesn't make anything pop. It's not muted colours (which means desaturated not dark) I have a problem with it's the lack of cohesion. The pinks of the original hull are tonally different from the pink of, oh-- everything. The hull colours are magenta hues (except the mid stripe), but the sails, and all the "accessories" are red hues of pink.
Everything on the hull is dark but all accessories are red, redish pink, coral/salmon, and teal, clearly being that of a cherry blossom spring-time theme, and being that spring time is a colourful time of year it's pretty unclear to me why the hull would be so dark. Not only that but you can barely see the "accessories" they near all get drown out by the darkness of the hull.
You mentioned elegance, but I don't think the theme was meant for elegance but a SoT representation of the fun colourful theme of a Japanese cherry blossom festival. Festivals known for being bright and colourful events. Does elegance play a part? Yes but that hull isn't elegant it's just dark pink, on dark red, with dark brown. If you only perceive "elegance" as "muted" (still the incorrect word to use - because muted denotes desaturation) dark colours than you too are very boring.
I'm not losing sight of any trees, I'm seeing dead trees in a spring forest and asking why all the trees are dead~~
That's like looking at a colourful, elegant, spring ballgown and saying "Ew that just a 'a riot of color' and not elegant at all Colour can't be elegant!" Okay sure, go off king. . .

The collector's versions suck. I LOVE THE CAPSTAN. The fish should match the hull or something as a colour variation.

I meant those trumper looking like for example...this box on the sides isn't blocking the vision like those imo
