I'm at a loss at why in-game events are not communicated to the community in the game itself. Legends Week was announced on Monday via a tweet with a link to news.xbox.com, and the communication that followed across the Sea of Thieves social channels was inconsistent at best. Even the "News" video that was released yesterday made no mention of the Gold & Glory events happening this weekend, and I don't understand the reasoning behind that.
I noticed that the most recent update includes an announcement for Legends Week on the sign-in screen, which is great...until I realized that the actual message about it is a URL to the same news.xbox.com article that is not clickable.
I want players to engage with the events that Rare puts a lot of time into planning, and I think they do to, and I think a simple in-game calendar as well as letting players know the full details of an event in the game itself would go a long way to increasing community engagement. A lot of SoT players are on Xbox and skew younger, and I think it's silly to expect them to either follow SoT on twitter or check their email (lol) for a link to an article that explains when and in-game event is happening and what it is.
I know this is a bigger ask, but an in-game notification for when golden hour starts and ends, such as a simple audio cue would also be tremendously helpful. I love this game and am always excited for the events, but am frustrated at how those events are communicated to the community itself.
