Sea of thieves connection issues

  • I've been having a lot of issues with sea of thieves when I have good internet but have high ping spikes on 2.4ghz Wi-Fi but have hazelnutbeard randomly on 5ghz without ping spikes. I have not found any solutions I've updated my Wi-Fi driver and I have no issues elsewhere. No, I can't do ethernet atm Wi-Fi is my only option. If anyone has any suggestions on this issue, please feel free let me know! This is on PC btw...

  • yesterday every server was absolutely atrocious.
Today they're still worse than normal but better.

  • @timingplanet54 wifi is a fickle beast and if you are having connection issues i would say the actual wifi is the main culprit.

While 5ghz allows for higher/faster data throughput it is also way more fragile of a connection, 1 concrete wall can be enough to block the signal or make it work intermittently.

2.4 ghz is more stable but can still have issues with continuous data throughput like what happens during gaming.

Wifi is not ideal in gaming situations and the most common culprit of connection issues

  • @scheneighnay This is a issue that's always happening no matter when i play

  • The patch notes for this build (or the last one) say that users can expect lag spikes.

It's probably not an issue on your end. I get them too and I run ethernet for gaming.

  • you can try checking your wifi router and turning off "OFDMA" if your router uses WIFI6. in my experience this causes problems at the moment.
