I think the aggressive skeleton ships are too strong. I've been attacked by a skeleton ship twice. Both fights lasted 10 seconds. Skeletons are shooting a core at me. BAM. The result is that I am dead, and so is my ship. And so it is every time. There are no chances to do anything. And there was another time when I was standing at the outpost, I thought that they would not attack if you were in this territory.
Aggressive skeleton ships are too strong
Hello Sir , may i ask how long you are playing ? i don't do this to offend you , just to get an idea... You see when those ships come to you and i geuss you are alone then shoot them just under the waterline , as much as you can. Also count how many shots your sloop digest and repair after two hits . Don't wait too long or you swim with the fish. If you have Cursed ( coloured) cannonballs then use them as well... You need to find a rythim between shooting and hitting , preferably low, and repairing /bailing... This takes some time before you feel the right rythm but by try and error without giving up , you will be a Legendary surviver soon who laughs if you hear those ships approach in the future...
Remember ,that every Pirate here has done and overcome the same and so shall ye, Sir.

They will aggro on you if your ship, yourself, or their ship gets too close to each other regardless of where you are on the map. This will also happen if you sail into the area of an active fleet (cloud in sky shaped like a ship, you will hear horns sound and a banner will appear on screen)
Best bet is to maneuver if you aren't confident with cannon shots. Run them into islands or rocks to make them turn off.
If you are confident in your cannons, emergent ships (should be sloops if on a sloop) can be sunk with a quick 10 cannons as it surfaces, alternate your hole placement and count to two between shots to space out the damage. Same can be done to accidentally aggro'd roaming ships. If you can't sink them in the first 10 shots, hit their cannon deck with firebombs shot from the cannon to stop them from returning fire as you reload/reposition.
These ships don't need to be made easier, players need to adapt to dealing with them. They have already been reduced quite a bit including the fleets.
@ixxxoloff so you got good advice already in previous posts, just want to add something if you are not aware of it: outposts are no safe zones, not for pirates, not for skellie ships! On Golden Sands Outpost and Plunder Outpost those roaming skellie ships can come pretty close to the dock, so watch out
I have to agree with the OP on this one. I do get that there are tactics and strats to beating skellie ships, BUT, having them appear, literally, right next to you and start firing is TOO aggro.
It would be one thing if there was a telegraph, and sometimes there are if the skellie ship is already on the water. But no good game, ever, introduces enemies with zero telegraph like that. You simply can't respond quickly enough.
These ships don't always spawn right on top of you but sometimes they do and that's what's OP, IMO; that should never be happening.
The skellie ships would be fine, if, there were an attribute on the players vessel whereby a skeleton ship spawn that isn't already on the map couldn't spawn within (X) distance of an active players ship; especially if the active crew is a solo player.
The spawn zone doesn't have to excessively far away but a fair distance so that players can recognize and choose their response, whether it's fight or flight; and have that difficulty stack based on crew size.
Having an enemy ship spawn literally right next to your own is just lazy logic. This wouldn't be hard to implement and it would make the gameplay more balanced.
I had this happen to me tonight. I had spent over an hour on a quest out in the volcano region and after successfully collecting what I needed and dealing with the volcanoes; while sailing on my way to turn everything in when a skellie ship appeared literally right next to me and started firing, with dead on aim. That should never happen.
