Fortress Prison Key

  • Does anyone know how to unlock the prison in the new forts? I have looked all over the fort and have been unable to find it.

  • @travis354 I dont think you can yet. Probably going to be for something in the future.

  • According to another thread, it seems to be a mystery. Right now my current hunch is that the prison key and the cell is a part of the next SOT adventure. It's probably sending us to the forts to complete it!

  • Maybe it's also just a forgotten interaction not removed and the prison its just decorative ?

  • @travis354

Looking for that prison cell key? Aye! Yer in good company, me hearty. Untold numbers of pirates have scoured these Sea Forts and still no prison cell key has been found. This leads us to believe that Flameheart’s Phantoms have dutifully made a greater effort to keep this particular key from falling into pirate hands. Why is this key better protected than the others? What secrets does it unlock? How might we finally take it for ourselves? Perhaps only time will tell…

Rare. (2017). Sea of Thieves E3 2017 gameplay trailer.

Why? Is there something in the prison you want?

  • @travis354

Personally i think it's gonna be something we find in the next adventure... in two weeks.

Could also be part of that whole Mystery thing they said they were doing. Haven't really kept up to date on that though, so idek what the current mystery is...

  • @burnbacon

Yes... a selfie with the dead Pirate inside ;)

  • now what about the key to the second treasure room on the top of the fort?

  • @scheneighnay It is usually in one of the cabinets you can interact with in the fort.

  • When an outpost is covered in green gas and it is destroyed that means that the fort has prisoners inside of it. There is a boss at the fort near the outpost named the phantom jailor. Kill him and get the cell key. There will be prisoners inside of the cell. you will get an enchantment book thing, bring to to the lady at the outpost and you will get a quest. That's what happened with my crew at least.

    you are partially correct:

There is one Outpost that is covered in a green cloud, Golden Sands Outpost, it has been attacked just before the previous adventure launched and it got destroyed and ever since its inhabitants went missing.

In between the Previous and the current adventure the new sea forts started materializing on the seas and since 24th of march the new adventure (forts of the forgotten) launched.

Each active sea fort now will have an extra enemy, the phantom jailor, which when killed drops a cell key which can be used to open the prison cell and allow you to talk to the prisoners. This is not tied to the outpost directly ALL sea forts have prisoners and phantom jailors

Each forts hosts 3 prisoners, one of which is always Wonda, the other two are complete RNG and to complete all deeds in the adventure you will need to talk to each individual one. this can make it that you have to visit quite a few forts before getting them all

  • @jperry13 this post was made 12 days ago, before the adventure today.

  • Im streaming some SoT And i came across a phantom jailor and saw the guys in the cell but once i killed the boss they disappeared and i found a 4th key being a 2nd jaill cell key

  • Yesterday when trying to queue sync, one of the times I loaded in, the key was on a table in a tavern.
