The sea of thieves ships are unique and awesome but they are rather simplistic (with isn't bad, it's just the creative liberty Rare took with them) I'm suggesting modifying the ships with jib Sails or booms, that allow you to have better speed but less maneuverability. The risk per reward needs to be balanced with these sails so I'm not quite certain what effect these sails would have on the overall ship performance but I'm just spitballing. What are your thoughts?
Better Ship Custimization
There are no items that a player can permanently obtain (and persist between sessions) to alter the function of their ship or character. It's pretty much a no-no in terms of the design of the game and you'll likely never see it.
At the very most, you can obtain items throughout your Adventure session that grant you advantages in PvE (like the Ashen Winds Skull and Trident) and PvP (like Chainshots and Cursed Cannonballs).
I wouldn't be opposed to being able to find some items throughout a session that temporarily alter the handling or speed of the ship.
@targasbr thats understandable what if ship costumization is purchased mid match for a large sum of money similar to storage crates, and there are pros and cons to having ship cosmetics and to not having them.

I will always be against buying things like this, even if it's temporary.
I would rather just see different cosmetic customizations, as opposed to cosmetics that give advantages. The whole idea of SoT is that everyone is on a level playing field by default.
Now I would LOVE to see further expanded ship customization for pirate legends (changing physical look of the ships; different captain's quarters, railings, lanterns, rigging, sail types, interior layout, etc.
