Currently, on my computer, I am using an RTX 3080 ti and an intel i5-11600K. I can run many games such as Call of Duty or God of War on max graphics at a stable 200 fps, but when I play Sea of Thieves the frames are terrible (around 10-40 fps) and whenever enemies spawn in my game will freeze for a bit. I am not sure what is causing this extreme drop in frames, and I was wondering if anyone could help. I have also checked all in-game settings, my game is not frame capped, and my graphics are all on cursed.
My Game Does Not Run As Well As It Should
You should be getting way better performance. My 1660ti gets about 60 at 2k, lows of 45 and up to 90ish in open waters with custom settings (mix of mythical and Rare).
Sounds like it could be using on-board graphics or something from intel. Not really sure what to tell you, besides maybe assign high performance in nvidia control panel or something.
My game would completely crash after a a fps drop. Sometimes my game would show corrupted files too. I shut down this program called "Nahimic services", it's a 3rd party audio optimizer for games that is not mandatory/ needed. After turning it off sea of thieves started working smoothly. Apart from that it's difficult to determine what might be the problem. follow the process that Rare has on support, including making sure you have the game as an exclusion in your fire wall and anti virus. Verifying/ repairing/ resetting game data or app data might also work
