Since the basic goal in SoT is cosmetics , please make battle scars optional. Or make it disappear when changing ship livery.
Ship battle scars
Since we can select rats on or off , battle scars deserved same option. When changing ship's livery , au revoir battle scars.
- BurnBacon : Saying "I want Pvp" is simple , just do the pvp. We're all survivors , we all respawn , and everyone at certain point will know how to fight. Not everyone wants to show off in-game skills , some just want to sail in style. Even sinking time after time , it doesn't matter , sinking in style matters.

It also a good way to say, I want Pvp
Sure that’s totally fine but why shouldn’t the option to remove the damaged appearance of cosmetics when repaired be a good choice to have the ability to do? It could be as simple as when the part is fully repaired, changing cosmetics and changing back equips the cosmetic as is normally is. It’s like when you switch weapon skin in the armory, you get your ammo back. If you want your “battle scars” simply don’t get rid of them.
@ghostfire1981 yeah but it’s more of just keeping the ship cosmetics the way the look originally throughout voyages. Being able to repair the helm, capstan, and hull livery’s normal appearance at outpost stops would be cool.
