They aren't running, just going theyr trail...that trail isn't going all over the map...one area, but not more...
Actually the skellie ship routes are always the same

Those are the regular roaming skellie ships, they are just a threat if you shoot them or get too close to them...if that not happens they will go theyr way...that's the way they work...how shall that skellie ship know, that you are up to them?
There are skellie ships that will spawn on you, they will stick to you, if you want it or not
There are skellie ship raids, as long as you are in the area of it, they will fight you
You seem to be just salty, that you didn't get them...one advice, if you have to go against the wind to get to a roaming skellie ship, don't do it...wind doesn't have any effect on skellie ships, so you will be slower...

You make a problem out of a non-issue, man! Learn the game, roaming skellie ships always acted like this...
The threats are emergent skellie ships and the ship raids...
The roaming ones are more like a victim
