The transformation of a budding bard with many a tale becoming a creature I had only thought to see in the depths.

  • So I finally got around playing SOT again recently with a friend of mine who is hellbent on living up to his name: TunaToesBard.

Ship is traveling? He is playing music.

Transferring goods and treasure to the ship? He is playing music.

Jumping on an island and fending off skellies. He is there. With a smirk on his face. Playing freaking music.

For many a session I was the one at the helm of our sloop, managing every technical detail of the darn thing as we sailed on our adventures. We explored all the shrines and treasuries. Did a few commendation hunts, had our fights in occasional PVP. But one evening a few days ago under the shroud of a green fog swallowing us up on an island something changed within the music blaring character. As our ship sailed with our sails up to perch next to the shoreline of the eerie island he pipped up and said: "Yo, I think I see another sloop next to us in the mist."

As I looked around to spot it the symphony of music that filled my ears stopped only to ear a loud splash as sea water collides against our boat and he was thus off on his own merry adventure. At first I thought he was going to greet them with the sound of music muffled underwater but moments later all I hear is the loud blasts of gun powder and the words: "Got one. The other is coming! Got the other. Quick come shoot their ship!"

So I went, brought the ship at a snails pace beside them and let loose a furious barrage of cannonballs that bore holes into their ship. We ended up sinking them that day to see a bunch of glittering treasure floating upon the sea.

That day, we were doing a Tall Tale and I thought nothing of treasure of bounty but it seems this experience churned the inner PVP demon out of him and now he is always itching to shoot a gun, swipe his sword, or blast a cannon.

So now we still do our adventures. We still set sail on the high seas. I still hear that music blaring out of his instruments every chance he gets with the occasional thematic ring of the ship's bell but something has changed. He plays music on the mast and examines the skyline in the crow's nest for ships. He itches for another battle with strangers that dare rain down Hell upon our boat. He is battle hardened.

Oh yeah. He is a freaking bard alright. A bard I had thought to be nothing more than a budding character on the seas with an interest on playing music. Now, I actually let him do most of the PVP work. Freaking monster he is!

Just another adventure for Makuren and TunaToesbard!

  • He sounds like an amazing teammate to play with. To be honest, while I am not a PvP freak, I do play music whenever I can, but this man, he is just something else. I wish you good luck on the seas! May the oldmothers soul bring you adventure.

  • @foodzilla7499 Yeah. Definitely. I think we would be open to doing a 4 man galleon or brig some time soon so if anyone wants to experience a bard in his element. Let me know!

  • Brilliant tale, the character development and adventure makes this one of the best I've read. Sounds like the bard has finally found himself on the seas, I look forward to reading the continuance of you and your musical mate!

  • @avacadobeard244 Oh I will be adding more. Lately he has been showing off his musical talents to the fish he catches off the bow of our vessel!
