Fort of the Damned

  • Could you tell me, why, a near impossible requirements to activate fort is then shown on the map for all other players. i mean.. i spent 1 hour trying to have all 6 colors of a torch, 35 minutes to kill Skelton just to be killed in the last 5 minutes by other players alerted by the Skull head in the sky and the Dot on the map .. . why

    Raises a grog

My condolences. Been there, sunk there.

  • It's a pirate-activated world event, it's not free loot just because it took a while to get the opportunity to get the loot.

Other pirates may recommend Fort of the Damned for it's insane profits, especially from stacking, but be forewarned: several pirates also know how profitable that fort is, and you'll have to be prepared to defend your progress and the loot from some of the toughest pirates out there who seek the delicious payout from that fort.

In other words, don't do it if you're not ready for or capable of handling PvP. It is bound to come, and you must be ready for it whether you like it or not.

  • I wouldn't do it unless you enjoy it.

If you want gold you can do a fleet near reaper's and make plenty of gold in a shorter amount of time.

If you want the athena risk a FoF which is much better reward for the risk

If you want the commendation credit just take it slow and when you land on a server with a FoTD get yourself within range through tucking or a rowboat and just chill and let them finish it if they aren't friendly, for credit

  • @ahpaslui "I ran into pirates in the pirate game and im mad about it"

  • Well, I’ll be damned! You were sunk at Fort of the Damned! And your response? It’s, “Damn you, pirates!”

  • Not sure you were up to Fort of the Damned, especially as a solo, if it took you an hour to get all the lantern colors. That is like a ten minute activity except for lightning if the storm happens to be across the map.

  • Getting the lights is the worst part of the FOTD. I feel that the lights should automatically re-ignite every 30 minutes after it's been completed. More players would probably do the FOTD and/or bait it..and then it wouldn't be such a hopper magnet.

The FOTD is rewarding and fun...but unless you're diligent about watching the horizon and checking for mermaids/rowies, the real challenge will be after you've finished it.

  • It's a "public event" matey, designed to encourage players to come together just like any other. The difference is that the player makes the specific decision to activate it, rather than it spawning at random.

It's the risk versus reward that this game runs on. Yes you can get a lot of gold/rep/unique commendations, but it's at the risk you'll be challenged.

Remember, nothing is yours until you cash it in.

Good luck on future attempts, matey!

  • The explanation is simple: its a world event, and world events are supposed bring players together to PvP and fight over the loot.

    1. Requirements aren't near impossible, in fact the hardest ones to get is shark and player, which just require some patience.
    2. It's a public event or a world event if you don't want to attract attention, don't do it
