THE ADVANTAGES A PLAYER HAS WITH THE BARREL DISGUISE EMOTE Over Others...

Experienced players know where the barrels are on their ship so a new barrel would stand out. Also a player tucked in a barrel 'sways' with the motion of the ship whereas a normal barrel doesn't.

It isn't as OP as people assume. I find the original hide emotes to be much more useful.

That being said - eventually the Season cosmetics/emotes etc will likely drop in the shop - however the purpose behind having them as Season exclusives is to generate FOMO - which will then encourage people to play more as they don't want to miss out.

you have tucking emotes for free that are better than the barrel emote.

They're bringing it back.

It's not that great because it's very obvious which barrel is fake. (Size, placement, clipping issues)

Sleep and Hide emotes also hide your name

If you have a pet equipped the barrel should lift up just a little bit and let them scurry underneath.

And then shake lol

I agree it is totally OP. Once I sneaked onto a Gally, hopped in my barrel right next to wheel and not one person noticed this new wobbling over sized barrel. I then jumped out and slaughtered them all when they least expected it.

it's not that big of a deal. If they didn't have the barrel emote they'd have hidden somewhere else using the hide emote without you seeing them. Got to do them tuck checks.

I know there are other emotes that are KINDA similar, but not it.
I spent 2 hours looking through websites and the shop.

@iceman-d18 During BATTLE, those weird barrels(people using the emote) might not stand out as much..... hence why I made it a PvP based advantage.
@schwammlgott Your assuming everyone is facing OLD EXPERIENCED PLAYERS LOL. There is a good mix of old and new my friend. It still is effective , and is an advantage over others in PvP atleast.

I mean it's kinda just one of the learning curves for the newer players. Most experienced players will be able to tell when something is off when they see a larger, swaying, off-coloured barrel on their ship that wasn't there before. It works best on the galleon, but only really blends in on the bottom of the ship. On sloop, the barrels are much smaller than the emote barrel, so there's nowhere to blend in anyway, and on brig it works alright but the hitboxes are a bit off and there's a bit of floating space underneath the barrel emote so it's kinda easy to see.

"perfectly" yet...many of us can tell you it isn't perfect. It slightly bigger than ones on a ship have and when the ship is rocking, the barrel...moves.
Also it only 100% works if the crew or pirate is clueless to the # of barrels on a ship and placement.

You can't purchase it in the SHOP. nothing. I need some help here DEVS on understanding how
you think that its a even playing field to allow some players who played during that time get an UNFAIR advantage over other/newer players. If it didn't do anything in the PvP aspect of the game I wouldn't understand the current
situation. But its ONLY FOR PvP. It literally hides you allowing you to become another OBJECT that your name tag can't be seen.

ANY DISGUISE that allows a player to gain a VISUAL HIDDING ADVANTAGE should be available to everyone at all times.

@captinwookie its honestly not that big of deal. It was free I think with Season 2 and Rare have stated they will bring parts of the old seasons back. If they brought them back all the time people would then come to the forums whining about no new content. Be patient, it will come back. Also there is plenty of stuff in this game that was time limited and its good that they don't bring stuff back sometimes. Allows long time players to flex what they have and reminisce on times gone by.

Its about FAIR/ BALANCED PvP.

@captinwookie its not really an advantage. Since S2 I have never had anyone even use it on me. I'm guessing you'd also think DA sails are an unfair advantage because they have a cut at the bottom for better vis and can only be gained by those with over 8 mil in gold. Its one emote, it stands out on a ship because it doesn't flow correctly with the boat and plenty of other emotes allow you to hide more effectively and clip into stuff.

Not sure how much you play, or if by chance you haven't "seen much people use it". But I have seen it alot, and I think its phenominal! I want to be able to use it too!
DA sails are an advantage, but guess what, its available IN GAME FOREVER. Anyone can get it, your point makes no sense.
I know its "one emote" but it has alot of power in PvP, that give someone an edge, and I'm sorry you can't see that.

@captinwookie I play alot. I PvP a fair amount. I tuck check regularly. Typing in CAP's doesn't make your point anymore relevant. Whenever I've tucked I don't use the barrel emote because it's not effective compared to the planking emote or hide. It only ever works on people who don't know what they are looking for and lets be honest, those players hardly stand a chance anyway.

The barrel, hide and dice emotes should automatically be in everyone’s vanity chest I think. They’re just too immediately iconic to not to be universal.

I use capitol letters to EMPHASIZE the words I want you to say in your head longer.
Again I'm very glad you TUCK CHECK, which is wise, but again if you read any of my posts,
WHEN FIGHTING A BATTLE it can be the thing to win some matches. I've seen it, I've fall for it, etc, etc.

Again if you want TRUELY BALANCE PvP then this emote should be available all the time, even if its in the shop.

FYI, I buy coins all the time, and buy the SEASON PASSES every season. I just hadn't start playing that early to get that emote.

Well I actually didn't know all that info, hence I fell for it.
I do know what to look for but its still an effective tool, not sure why you want to argue with me over and over.

@captinwookie I just think there are much more important factors that sway the tides with PvP than an emote, mermaids not spawning correctly, hit reg, sword block not functioning, silent boarding, others players connections affecting locational damage and creating a wifi sword. I've died and sunk to all of these, never to a barrel emote.

You learnt from your loss, GG the winners and become a better pirate through the experiences you've had.

All those things have nothing to do with the EMOTE, I agree with all your bug issues. I had the last 4 Merchant sunken ship quests bug out and only spawn a journal.
I feel your pain. And your experience isn't everyone elses, I have seen videos of this working, I have seen it work, and I have fallen to its mysterious ways.

Agreed on the fact that this emote by itself should be available to everyone, it does provide an unfair advantage (Mostly to new players)

I bet you get your barrel emote before the DA sails, good thing is you'll have something to store the salt in then lol! I must have used the barrel emote 3 or 4 times when I first got it and didn't bother after that, had forgotten I had it in fact.. Might use it tonight and destroy everybody on the server!
