I've tried several times since receiving Wanda's Spyglass and I unfortunately just can't use it with such a strong red tint. It makes it very hard for me to determine what I'm looking at and pick out details (or colours). I don't really have other colour-blindness issues personally, so changing the settings for the entire game, such as turning on a colour-blind mode, isn't the answer for me, it's just this one particular tint that's too strong. I've seen posts around other Sea of Thieves forums mentioning similar issues with this spyglass. From what I've seen online I think the Reaper's Heart Eye of Reach has a more subtle red tint that may be a suitable replacement if Rare were to consider adjusting it.
It seems Wanda's Spyglass isn't the only item with this issue. There's a post on this forum from a year ago with a similar issue about the Reaper's Heart Spyglass, but I don't have that cosmetic, so I'm not sure if it was ever adjusted after that feedback. If anyone knows of any other items with similar issues, please feel free to mention them.
I think the model for Wanda's Spyglass looks great. I was excited to earn it just after reaching Pirate Legend and I'd love to use it, but I'd be disadvantaging myself in the game if I did so, and making it harder for myself even in PvE situations. I'd love if the tint was made much more subtle, like the Reaper's Heart Eye of Reach or the Lodestar Spyglass. Alternatively, perhaps a toggle/slider in settings that allowed the tint to be turned off or reduced/adjusted on tinted items. I think the red tint is cool, just too intense.
