Endgame content

there are commendations that can take people years to complete
experience, skill, and strategy allow people to do all sorts of different things as far as personal challenges and goals go
expensive stuff for people to earn gold for

these aren't things that everyone is in to but it's something for people to do

I think the narrative around there being an endgame issue comes from such a focus on pirate legend being significant
when pirate legend is essentially just a tutorial on picking up and selling loot for most people, there are exceptions where pirate legend is quite an accomplishment for an individual but overall it's just the first chapter in a long tale

Do you mean content for the end of SoT or content for players who have progressed to a certain point in the game? The game is not ending soon so we don’t need that. And the game was designed for players of any experience to jump in and join their friends on any of the content. If you have maxed on everything in the game and you have a friend who joins tomorrow, your friend can come along on any task you want them on. There are enough games out there with content locked behind levels. I got sick of having to run two or three toons just to be able to play with friends at different progression levels. That’s not what this game is about. SoT doesn’t need it. People have been saying it does but it has been doing very well without it.

2 years of organic play was about my experience as well.

That could be sped up and there are a lot of things that are different about the environment that have made some easier and some more difficult to organically achieve but yeah it's about a 2 year journey.

Imo that's the best part of the content. Whether it's finishing the monthly content back in the day or the seasonal content currently or all of the commendations in general, those moments of relax sailing where people can do whatever without anything scratching away at them until the next batch of stuff to do gets released.

I love raising the anchor knowing that I did the work and now I get to enjoy a session based around whatever happens, happens.

That's the reward to me.

@swiftthatch just looked at your profile for stats and achievements...why are you complaining about "no endgame content"? There is so much stuff you can do...or let's say, so much stuff you didn't do yet...
