Alabasterbeard issues 08/01 11:00pm

    Me and a friend of mind just tried to log into sea of thieves and kept getting alabasterbeard. Checked Sea of Thieves server status and that says everything is fine.

    The team is aware of a current issue with matchmaking.

    We are investigating and will update once it is resolved. Until then, please be aware that you could experience a delay in accessing the game, and some players may be unable to get in.

    Gotta love the server status page says the game is fine, and that it's been updated a minute ago, but the servers have been having SERIOUS issues for 4 and a half hours now.

    not saying that shouldn't be updated but the social media approach is gonna have a much more efficient reach these days than the server status page

    Same here can get to main page and can't get a private or open game going and emporium isn't working which kinda stinks cause it happened mid session and I wasn't getting the money only xp and I couldn't get anymore jobs. Also if it helps I'm running it through Steam.

    I troubleshooted everything on my end to fix my Alabasterbeard error but it keeps showing up. Is SoT down?

    Fancy updating the status page as currently it says everything is fine but it's impossible to start a game.

    We’ve been trying to login for over an hour and getting same Alabasterbeard error message. All other games connecting to their servers with no issues so I know it’s not an issue on my side.

    I just sold about 400k gold and some doubloons, nothing counted for me and then I got dced. will I lose everything I sold or it'll get updated after the servers come back up?

    the servers are fine, the system that validates accounts and gives permission to access the servers, not so much.

    my friends and I are having issues as well. This will be my first time playing the game and this is not what i expected to run into. Hopefully it gets fixed soon I really want to play SoT

    Yarra mateys, Rare should get all hands on deck. Scrub them thar servers, so's us pirates can sail them thar seas. Arrrrr......

    @musicmee Do you think the event will be extended? I don't get to play much myself and I'm sure others are in the same boat, no pun intended. Personally, I just need to polish it off.

    so, it seems it'll stay like this the whole weekend because on twitter they said "we hope to have an update by tomorrow". the only time I get to play, nice.

    So I just got up enough coins to change my pirate appearance and now I keep getting alabasterbeard error popping up everytime I try to play now, has been going on all day for me and I have tried everything on my end to try to fix it yet nothing seems to change…

    I was just able to load in. I tried maybe five times earlier in the day and it finally worked just now.

    Any chance it could be normal practice to update the server status page when there are issues like last night? Some of us choose to not use social media for various reasons and it would be good to have somewhere with reliable information.

    @musicmee Server status reports "All services are running normally" not "SOME servers work right now /shrug". It's a garbage status page, stop defending it.
