Possibility to change ship without leaving the server

  • If i'm playing in a sloop, and I would like to invite friends to join, It's so annoying that I have to get out the game.
It would be easier to go back to an outpost and ask the carpenter to change my ship!

  • I think it could work.

  • Often requested feature but I imagine is limited by how the matchmaking works. I think if it was possible or easy to do they would have done it by now.

  • I agree we need a feature like this that lets us change to diff ships at the Outposts, so when people join or leave it causes less of a problem

  • As useful as a feature it can be, it will also be one that decimates tough sloop crews.

You don't want to successfully sink a sloop full of loot, and then 5-8 minutes later see that same crew return as a galleon with a few tryhards on board that will make the fight infinitely unfair for the original winner.

You can participate in every single activity in any ship type, and you're just as likely to find it again on a different session as a different ship type.

  • Honestly, we're probably nearly there with portaling. All you'd need is to just change it to no longer work through TT and instead use an NPC, possibly the shipwright to do it but I see it working very similar.

Would be hilarious if just picking your own ship allowed you to hop the same way as TTing so hopefully they would think of that.

  • I don't see this working presently with staying on the same server, though I do think it could work with having you seamlessly load into a new server like what happens with the Tall Tales.
