Is glitching illegal?

  • Ahoy fellow pirates. I was wondering if glitching, such as hiding loot under the map, is an illegal offense that will result in a ban? Have only seen it happen once on the FOTD. If no hacks or cheats were used, and they simply just found a way to glitch under the map with a piece of loot somehow, is that considered illegal, or is it just a consequence of poor game mechanics/code, or both perhaps?

Thank you and happy new year!

  • Oh and if this is the wrong place to ask this, I'm sorry!

  • @shivanoz intentionally using a known bug in a video game is called exploiting. Yes, exploiting can get you banned if someone records you doing it and submits said evidence to Rare.

It may not happen after the first report, but will eventually as your account gets flagged and reviewed.

  • I know that sometimes players will glitch loot into rocks or rocks won't have collision so it goes in them. There's all kinds of instances of this in the game.

That's probably why they added the loot shine effect.

  • glitching idk normally they cant ban you cause its their fault that the game is buggy .sure when its a glitch like duplicate items and they caught you ,you would get a punish but never for hiding items under the map in this case they should fix it asap

Sure.. but abusing certain bugs is your choice, and your fault, and probably would get you banned
