This may be my favourite game of all time

    But unlike some of my other favourite games from the past, its an entirely online experience. The point of this is I have favourites like super Mario 64 which I can pick up and play no matter how long it’s been, but I feel like that may not be the case w SoT. How long after the game stops being supported will we be able to play? Are we nearing the endgame at all? If the game ever does go offline (hopefully not in the near future) will we never be able to play it again? I just hope it’ll be supported indefinitely anyway thanks rare for this masterpiece of adventure I get lost in every time I play

    Back in the early days, Rare said it has a planned life of at least 10 years so enjoy away.

    There is a 10 year plan. Hopefully around year 8 or 9 we will get an offline save option to solo or a transfer to SoT2 git gud n00b.

    It'd elevate Rare into to the renown of Valve if they implemented an End-of-life plan for the game, making and releasing an offline singleplayer/IP-multiplayer version in the event that the servers have to come down indefinitely

    That's something that lots of companies don't think about or really know how much their customers appreciate that sort of game preservation effort

    I have been playing Video Games since they came out.

    I remember being in a bar with my parents in like the late 70's , early 80's at a Holiday Inn and the table we were sitting at was actually an Asteroids machine!

    Once the stuff was removed I was like Holy F! I've been hooked ever since.

    Ran a BBS on a Commodore 64 through the early mid 80's

    I've played, experienced more games than 99% of other humans.

    This game is probably one of my favorites of all times as well.

    It's my favourite sandbox game. They have reported a minimum 10-year plan in the past so only really need to be (potentially) nervous 2028 ;)

    when sot came out i loved to play it, but everytime when i play sot since the last year i feel dried out my breaks from this game get longer and longer. sot can be fun but its also so grindy , yes we dont need to grind but when i just go for pvp it goes also boring really quick.

    It’s my favorite Game too, for all Time! And don’t worry, the Support Plan is to 2028 at least and then Rare isn’t shutting Down Servers immediately after the last Season! I think after the last Update comes Out I call it Season 30, there will be an dedicated Team for Bugfixing and maybe small Qol updates every few Months! I think we can play this Game to 2038 !
