Sellable alliance flag

  • Over the past week, our crew has sailed a lot as a reaper and we engage in challenging battles, some of them against ship alliances, and facing more than one ship at the same time.
What do you think about when a ship belonging to an alliance sinks, it drops an alliance flag?
This flag could be sold as a treasure, perhaps for less than an emissary flag, but at least it would reward the crew for winning a great battle against an alliance, or for having had the courage to disturb a hornet' stoe, which can happen if the entire alliance turns against the aggressor ship.
Moving forward what some might talk about.
Alliance ships will be able to sink themselves to take their flags and give them as a gift to the other alliance members to sell and make more gold, making it an exploit. Yes, they will be able to do this, which is also no different from what is currently the case with the alliances of emissary, including the alliances of reapers, who in the end, after selling the loot, sink their boats and give the level 5 flag to a chosen crew

I think that the feeling of facing several alliance ships at the same time, and coming out victorious is rewarding enough to me. I don't need to be able to sell their alliance flags. Knowing we wrecked them all is fully enough.

I have to agree on the feeling. It's very rewarding and exciting.

  • No. The obvious farming exploit you mentioned.

  • This sounds awesome! And really not hard to fix the exploit if your crew ever belonged to the alliance then the flag will be counted as your own and give a measly 1 gold! This sounds like a fun addition to the game and adds additional rewards for taking on alliance ships.

What I think to make this work better and avoid any other farming the flags value will scale with the emmissary value of that ship. So a level 5 reaper in an alliance will drop a level 5 alliance flag and a level 5 reaper flag while a ship with no emmissary will drop a level 0 alliance flag (worth little to no gold)

Clearly you don’t see the issue.

Reapers alliances up with players all the time. Leave the alliance and sink your former alliance. But you do this in good faith
    Rinse and repeat, switch ships.

I don't particularly care what alliance servers do between them. They hardly take risks in adventure mode out of Their servers, and whether we like it or not, they are part of the community. But as long as those who venture normally into the game, taking risks like everyone else, have this possibility of a new mechanic, I would accept

It may be so, but I don't understand much of the subject when the technical part comes up. But with the mechanics of buried treasures, if you bury an emissary flag and then dig it up, it becomes yours and reward drops to 1 gold. Perhaps the same concept of the bit that activates this can be used in the question of alliance flags

Perhaps. I wouldn't want it to become a way to punish anyone who makes an alliance in the game, wanting to make a little more profit, or even helping a rookie crew by putting another target on their backs. It's a way to reward those who had the courage to face an alliance, and the ability to win

  • I'll never understand people that judge a feature's balance by whether alliance servers will abuse it. That is literally the reason those servers were made in the first place, to avoid conflict and grind out in the most efficient way possible. If we could only add things that alliance server couldn't abuse, then we'd wouldn't have any treasure.

Merchant Commodities would like to talk about how they got nerf'd repeatedly because of alliance servers.

Off topic, but they are the reason why we can't have even more high risk high reward mechanics like the Commodities used to be...they abuse them by eliminating the risk and ruining the economy of the game.

I'd be totally fine with the existence of those manually manipulated PvE servers if the loot buff from the alliance was eliminated.
