Yes you heard me, Sea of thieves mobile version. I am not sure how the code works but they could try making a mobile version. I got this idea when my brother showed me he could play Sea of Thieves using Xbox Game pass app on mobile but it's kind of hard to play without a controller. There could be only-mobile-servers to make it fair but I don't know if Rare has considered this, if not that would be kinda cool!
Sea of Thieves...Mobile?!!
@millionnewt1528 With how complicated they game currently is, I don’t think It could be technically possible at this moment in time.
@millionnewt1528 how would making a mobile game make it any better then via xbox cloud streaming... you still need the same amount of controls.
SoT on mobile wouldnt work as a dedicated client, plus the extra dev time and with your suggestion of mobile only servers the extra server cost would make no sense especially since it works just as well via the streaming service
like you said you would need a controller, which you can connect to your mobile device and use while playing on cloud gaming.
@millionnewt1528
The controller may seem hard but could you imagine touch controls for the game? You'd need 2 control sticks, and buttons for a ton of things... Even if it were done, there would be buttons clouding up the screen. The graphics would be bad because phones just don't measure up to consoles or computers. And lets not even talk about how disadvantaged those players would be against even console players. The phone controllers that look like joy-cons, they could be better for ease-of-use, but besides that I don't think there are many options.
@grumpyw01f For the buttons it won't be that big of a problem as it needs:
A control stick to move (Including button to sprint)
A button to use/attack
A button to give/block
A button to Open item radial
A button to Open speech radial (where could also be option to use custom messages)
A button to Open inventory
A button for settings
For the picking up or opening chest part, you could simply hold down where it usually shows the option to on pc and Xbox (on the chest/other object)
For looking around it is quite simply by dragging across the screen often seen in mobile games
For the page turning, you could simply have the option to turn pages in the book
I personally have seen more options than these in other games (eg. PUBG)@millionnewt1528
Like I said, too many buttons.
Keep in mind, Interact and Attack must be a different button - You wouldn't want to peek into the wood barrel when trying to attack someone. A few other buttons are like that too.
I'm sure something could be done, but not without making it extremely clunky.
