Since the drop of Season 4, I've noticed that mermaids aren't spawning as often as quickly as they used to. In some cases it's taking more than two minutes (I've timed it) before they appear once swimming away from a ship.
This has cost me my ship and loot multiple times because I've gotten blown off the deck and mermaids take so long to spawn and the black screen lasts so long, my ship is long since sunk by the time I spawn in.
Mermaids should spawn at a reasonable distance from the ship like they used to. PvP is nearly unplayable as a solo player because it's taking up to two minutes for my mermaid to spawn in, despite my ship sailing away at full speed. By that time, my ship is sunk and there's literally nothing I can do about it.
I get that solo sloop is supposed to be hard, but come on, Rare. It's bad enough I get dumped on by having skellie sloops and galleys agro on me that aren't supposed to, plus megs spawning on me on top of that that aggro when the other ship shoots them nearly every other fight, do you really have to make it so mermaids don't spawn to get us back in a reasonable time either?
