In the Order of Souls tab, there's a commendation called "Raider of Cursed Strongholds," which requires completion of skeleton forts. But I wanna know if the special forts would also count, or if it's JUST normal forts. I asked the Discord and Reddit this question: the results seemed to be a "No for Forts of the Damned", but I'm getting mixed results for Forts of Fortune. On one hand: FoFs are still randomized world events that are cycled through (as opposed to FotD being a manual activation). But on the other, FoFs are only a relatively-recent addition to the game, and the commendation has been in the game since launch, so it may not count. I'd like confirmation from those who know for certain, if possible. Thanks.

people are able to get other boss commendations from fof now so it should count even if it doesn't currently
but it takes forever and is risky so I wouldn't worry about it and just find regular forts.
isn't it like 120 forts? way too many to use fof as a source for it considering the time and risk, for that commendation it would make more sense to focus on regular forts anyway
also unless they changed it only the crew that opens the vault gets the credit on fof so if someone pulls the ole sinkaroo or sneakaroo on you, you just wasted all that time.

Yes, it's 120 total vaults. But I wanted to know if they counted at all, so I can incorporate them ON TOP of normal ones.

The credit does indeed tick up once the vault is opened. But anyone can get progress if at least one member of your crew is within title distance of the fort. You know how a name of an island pops up once you get close to it? As long as you've seen that marker and haven't left/sunk, you have a chance. So even if you tuck, it'll count.

that's not how it was when fof came out. It may have changed I dunno
Only the crew that opened it were getting the credit when fof was released
and if it's still that same way it's not only a long drawn out fort it's a fort you may not even get credit for if someone else manages to open it. I know about how it was for other events but it wasn't that way for fof unless it's been changed since I stopped messing with them
Just do one and find out so you know for sure if it's counting for you on your commendation.

@wolfmanbush I tested it last night. Turns out: no. Forts of Fortune don't count for RoCS. Only for their own commendation of "Raider of Brutal Bastions".
...Which means I have LOTS of grinding to do. Well, at least I now know for certain.
