There's been times when I want to play with a group of friends but there is just to many of us (more than 4) so we've tried server hopping to hopefully get onto the same server. We tried doing that for a while and it never works. It would be nice if there was an option to manually select a server. It would also make it so people who wanted an active server could easily join one and people who just want to sail with little to no interference could also do so. Maybe also show what server friends are on so you don't have to guess what server they're on. There would still be an option to join a random server too.

If they would address the unbalanced rewards within the alliance feature they could start doing stuff like this
once the awards are addressed to make sense for making the environment easier and safer they could start letting people get 2 ships on a server which would be helpful to people with a bunch of buddies
As long as people are receiving pay that appropriately factors in the risk/reward rather than just being a cheesecake factory.
Rather than just having this weird cheese factory in the back where people do everything easily and un-nerf'd while the rest of us get nerf'd regularly and while people upset about getting sunk and asking for pve servers get told to deal with it, I'd rather it be addressed and brought into the mix in a well balanced manner.
