Encountered a Pirate's Life tall tale #3 bug

So I just finished the tall tale (or so I thought) with my friend and when I returned to the Sea of Thieves, Jack stayed on my ship and didn't bother leaving, giving out lines like "typically a ship is controlled by a method called 'sailing'" and stuff. I tried parking at islands, nothing worked. Tall tale was not completed, despite finishing everything. Anyone else have this bug?
