Party chat and game chat simultaneously on xbox

  • If I´m in a party with my friends while playing i can´t talk to other crews, while on PC my friends are able to do that. Is there any way of doing it on Xbox? The only times I managed to comunicate with other crews were when I played by myself

  • @luguiblackmamba unfortunately not. At the software level xbox is designed to use either game chat or party chat. I think it's that way for Any game, but has only really come to light with cross platform games like this.

I use the new xbox wireless headset which can connect to two devices at the same time (phone and xbox). So I have Discord on my phone to chat to my crew, and have then assigned a controller button as push to talk for game chat. That way we can talk amongst ourselves privately, but quick chat in game when we see other crews.

I don't think there's any other way around it I'm afraid, though I'd be interested to know if there is.

  • @luciansanchez82 when I forgot to turn my push to talk on last Saturday! Apologies for you having to hear me twice matey!

Great and full answer btw as well! Updoot!

  • I will never understand why some games will have communication options that others don't, if the possibility is there for crossplay.

For example, take 2 other games that I like to play, Rocket League and PUBG. In the former, you can only communicate with cross platform players if you use the game's quick-chat options, or if you use text via the game's in-game party system; this is incredibly limiting. In contrast, the latter allows you to fully communicate via voice or text regardless of platform - just last night I was communicating quite easily with a Playstation player while on Xbox.
