Reduce the amount of fog and how long it lasts

  • It would be great to see a reduction in the amount of fog that is currently on the sea of thieves, particularly in the southwest, ancient isles and shores of plenty regions.

The fog seems to linger for rather a very long time, and in the past when being at places such as discovery ridge, old sands atoll, plunder valley, the fog has lasted beyond an hour.

I'm all for the fog, as it can really change the course of the game, and adds a lot of atmosphere to the game which can be used for strategic advantage. However, i would like to see a tweak to the frequency and duration of these occurrences just as a suggestion as it can be very inconvenient.

  • I’d almost want to see it more often. I find the fog usually hits the edges of the map so most of it is in the Red Sea. Feels like a waste is it’s all off the map most of the time (in my experience)

    I. Love. The. Fog.

It's a nice break up from the norm - figuring out how to sail through it efficiently is really fun. It makes things less easy, which I like.

It's very interesting to use in PvP - especially when neither crew is shown on the map to each other.

I like to believe that I have a higher chance of finding the Shrouded Ghost in one... And I'll have a heart attack every time a meg spawns in fog!

It's the only weather separate from storms, so it is greatly atmospheric - especially since the music completely changes to an eerie silence.

I don't see fog that often, however... I would rather increase its spawn rate!
Though, it might be cool if it was able to spawn as smaller patches.

I would like to see a type of fish that only appears in fog. Maybe even a cursed chest that causes fog! And also a smoke bomb based on the Ashen Lord attack!

I gather from your post that you already get most of what I said, and you still find fog annoying... So I'll give you a tip. You might know it already, but anyway: If you firebomb somewhere on the ship (preferably on the bow) and stand right next to the fire, the screen will darken to compensate for the brightness, and also remove a lot of the effects of fog. You will be able to see a lot farther! Don't tell too many people though... it's a secret!

PS, I had to edit the post a couple times to get around this weird bug on the forums lately of not being able to use the submit button.

  • Solo in a sloop haunted by the heavy fog while the whispers from the unknown surround you like invisible sea spirits

I'd voluntarily get lost in there for hours if I could

I hope when I finally find that ghostly meg it's by myself on a sloop deep in the fog. What a way to finish that chapter it would be.
