GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE...

  • Sad news today of the one & only Richard Donner... the visionary Director of the 80's Movie " The Goonies" has sadly past.
As a child of the 80's... as part of my childhood, and of all things "Piratery" I salute him.
A sad day... great memories. Thank you Richard!!!

I found a little thing on the interwebs I would like to share on this occasion.

  • Aye, he also directed Lethal Weapon - the second greatest Christmas movie of all time after Die Hard.

    RIP Richard!

  • Huge loss. Superman, The Omen, the Lethal Weapon series, Ladyhawke and more. He was one of the greats.

I own a replica of that map, as well as the doubloon the kids use to find the treasure. The prop maker who made the ones on display at the Oregon Film Museum offers them for sale. If anyone is a fan of The Goonies, Donner, Spielberg, or pirate stuff in general, it's well worth looking it up.

  • @liberance

    Ladyhawke.... thankyou.
Another one... deeply loved by myself.
Love the "strange" musical... very 80's score on that movie.

  • The first couple lethal weapon movies are the best of the genre imo

the performances the writing the directing they are just masterpieces

Scrooged is an all time favorite of mine

Maverick was fun but I'm a sucker for westerns

he and mel gibson always did well together

  • @wolfmanbush

Wow "Scrooged & Maverick"... yet again ..... awesome sauce.
They hadn't come to mind for me earlier .. but yeah really great movies.
Such a loss... such a period in time, such a great director.

  • Found the link.

If you wish to have more help re. "The One Eyed Willys Map"
Full crafting/advice for printing is available with the following link.
(It's hard sometimes to remember where I see "stuff"... I save things of interest over time, I forget where I saw it from.. but in this case..cool)

  • RIP. Such a fantastic movie.
