i was playing with 2 other people and one of them stole the chest from these people doing the fort of fortune and it didn’t count for me, why? i should have 1 done but it doesn’t show

You need to make sure they touched the chest before you did... otherwise the game won't know you have stolen it.
if you wanna steal one you have to either get it of their hands by getting rid of the carrier or steal it from the ship and jump off.
that said:
the Title legendary thief is sadly pretty worthless, people usually just trade athenas, especially in Discord Alliances. A lot of value and titles are meaningless cause of people da'ing.
