Crew Status Tags bug
- While sailing with friends last night, I noticed a subtle bug that might go unnoticed. While carrying loot, the crew status tags didn't always work. I know that it's on (I checked - and it's supposed to be on by default), and I could still see the CSTs of the crew doing other things. But why not this? Weird...
@galactic-geek I’ve noticed carrying Supply Crates around it doesn’t register as carrying anything. It still seems to work for loot with value.

Why not with storage crates though? You're still performing the action of carrying something!
@galactic-geek I agree. It’s something I noticed early on (maybe as far back as status tags being introduced?) I’ve never understood why Storage Crates do not trigger a status tag. I hypothesized that it was not an item to turn in for gold or doubloons, so it didn’t trigger a tag. I wonder if this follows for the new Tridents as well. To my knowledge, they can’t be turned in any where. Have you noticed if it triggers a status tag?
I'm not sure that it is a bug. The tag is probably not for the act of carrying, but for carrying loot specifically. Probably so at a distance you can identify where your crew mate with loot is located easily and quickly so you can know where you need to move to defend or pick them up, without having to rely on in game communication which is broadcast locally in the case if people not being in an xbox party or other 3rd party VoIP program.
@galactic-geek We checked out the Trident’s last night. No status tags while carrying a trident either. I can’t speak for any other non-value item (vault keys, TT items, etc). I’ll pay attention when we come across these types of items and see if that is the common trait for the status tags not appearing.
