The Chest of Everlasting Sorrow always disappears on the Tale for The Sunken Pearl. Please fix this problem with the The Chest of Everlasting Sorrow.

@unhookedshelf2 you mean, when going up with the ship? It doesn't disappear there, it just doesn't stay on the ship when pulling it up...look at it when pulling the anchor, ship goes up, chest stays down...solo it's impossible right now, if you are at least 2 in your crew, one of you holds the chest all the time...when enemies appear, the anchor guy stops moving and the guy with the chest shoots with the cannons...afte picking up the chest again, the anchot guy can move again...do it like this and it works, OR you wait until it's fixed
@schwammlgott If you don't pick it up after opening the door, it stays with the ship. Completely possible to do solo.
But when you do get to the top and go through the barrier to the tunnel filled with water, the chest disappears from your hands and vanishes. This is what OP is talking about.

@unhookedshelf2 Open the door, grab the chest. & run it up the mast and place it on the yard at the end where you have to jump off from to the ledge after the fight is over. I've done it before the patch and just last night and it has always worked. It doesn't move and the fact it's been placed where you have to go anyway, plus that way you won't forget to take it with you.
What the OP is referring to is a bug that is occurring as you carry the Chest of Everlasting Sorrows into the room where you need to use it.
After climbing up the mast of the Silver Blade with the chest, you enter a water tunnel into the next room. While swimming through the tunnel with the chest, it will just despawn out of your hands. pooƒ. Gone. And you're screwed out of progressing the commendation.
We can't get the commendation because of this and I do not see that the devs have acknowledged it as a known issue.
